UNDIP Anesthesiology PPDS Student Wins at “The 9th Biennial Symposium of Anesthesia and Coexisting Disease 2025” in Bandung

UNDIP, Semarang (February 10) – A UNDIP Anesthesiology PPDS student has brought pride to their alma mater by achieving remarkable success at “The 9th Biennial Symposium of Anesthesia and Coexisting Disease 2025 (COEX),” organized by the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran, and Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung. This event, themed “Empowering Anesthesia in Complex Patient Care,” was held at The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung from January 31 to February 1, 2025.

The UNDIP team secured top positions in the E-Poster Research Competition.

  1. Edo Putra Priyantomo won 1st place with his research titled “Modified Ultra Filtration Prevents Significant Increase in Inflammatory Response Post-Heart Valve Replacement Surgery with Cardiopulmonary Bypass.”
  2. Rezky Dwiputra Felany won 2nd place for his research titled “Effect of General Anesthesia Combined with PECS BLOCK II on Inflammation Levels in Breast Cancer Surgery.”
  3. Khalika Firdaus won 3rd place with his study titled “Correlation Between Central Venous Oxygen Saturation, Carbon Dioxide Gap, Respiratory Quotient, and Cardiac Output in Septic Shock.”

The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “This accomplishment highlights the outstanding quality of our PPDS students. I extend my highest congratulations and appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP team. This remark is solid proof of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to advancing knowledge in anesthesiology,” he stated.

This achievement reflects the excellence of academic and research quality at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, demonstrating that UNDIP PPDS students can compete and contribute at an international level. The university remains committed to producing innovative and globally recognized research that benefits society.

The 9th Biennial Symposium of Anesthesia and Coexisting Disease 2025 (COEX) is a prestigious symposium featuring various innovations and advancements in anesthesiology. The event includes multiple activities such as symposiums, workshops, an E-Poster competition, a photography & videography competition, and an alumni gathering.

The workshops covered key topics, including Ultrasonography Life Support (USLS), Pediatric Perioperative Life Support (PPLS), Regional Anesthesia and Basic Ultrasound Pain Management, Precision and Safety in Ultrasound-Guided Vascular Access, Streamlined Sedation: Effective Techniques in TIVA & TCI, and Basic Mechanical Ventilation.

This symposium provided a platform for experts to discuss challenges and innovations in anesthesiology. Additionally, it aimed to share the latest knowledge on safe and effective anesthesia techniques and best practices in patient management to minimize risks during medical procedures. (NH)
