Faculty of Science and Mathematics UNDIP Prepares Top Talents for the 2025 ONMIPA-PT Selection

Semarang – The Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held the university-level selection for the National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education Institutions (Olimpiade Nasional Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Perguruan Tinggi / ONMIPA-PT) on February 16, 2025, at the 6th floor of the Acintya Prasada Building. This event marks the initial phase of the prestigious competition organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).

The ONMIPA-PT 2025 university-level selection saw participation from 214 students across various faculties at UNDIP. Competitors contested for top positions in four scientific fields: Mathematics (60 participants), Biology (75 participants), Physics (50 participants), and Chemistry (29 participants). The selection process will determine the top five students in each category to represent UNDIP at the regional and national levels.

The Vice Rector officially opened the event for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., encouraged participants to give their best and bring pride to UNDIP. Additionally, the Person in Charge (PIC) of ONMIPA 2025, Nurdin Bahtiar, S.Si., M.T., expressed appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved, including UNDIP leadership, the Directorate of Academic and Student Affairs, at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics as the host faculty, judges, mentors, and the organizing committee from KOMIPA and participating students.

“May our collective efforts yield the best results and bring honor to Universitas Diponegoro at the national level,” he remarked.

This selection process aims to identify the most outstanding candidates with the potential to achieve national recognition. Participants will compete for 20 awards in each category, including 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 7 bronze medals, and 5 honorable mentions.

Through this event, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics UNDIP hopes to continue fostering high-achieving students who are ready to compete at both national and international levels.
