Syawalan 1446 H at UNDIP: A Moment of Silaturahmi, Reflection, and Performance Spirit

UNDIP, Semarang (April 8) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held a post-holiday gathering titled “Leadership Address Following the Eid Holiday” on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Rectorate, Tembalang. This event was part of the 1446 H Syawalan celebration, serving as both a moment to strengthen bonds and deliver strategic directions to the academic community after the long Eid al-Fitr break.

The event took place in a warm and pleasant atmosphere, attended by university leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff from various units within UNDIP’s central office.

UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., accompanied by Vice Rectors I, II, III, and IV, emphasized in his address the importance of maintaining unity and a strong work spirit after the extended holiday. He stated that events like this reflect the deep-rooted Indonesian cultural values of togetherness and are also opportunities for reflection to enhance performance and contribute to the university’s continuous development.

Prof. Suharnomo also highlighted the significance of seeking and granting forgiveness as a sincere human endeavor. “On behalf of the institution, we sincerely apologize for any shortcomings in our services or communication that may have caused discomfort,” said the Rector.

He further stressed the philosophy of working with joy, but more importantly, working with responsibility, gratitude, and purpose, viewing it as an act of worship to God.

“Those with a strong sense of responsibility will always produce better outcomes. Let us approach our work with gratitude and responsibility and see it as a part of our devotion,” the Rector urged.

As part of the Syawalan tradition, the event continued with a greeting and forgiveness exchange, followed by a friendly gathering, which further enriched the spirit of friendship.

This moment served as a reminder that collaboration and a family-like spirit are essential in realizing UNDIP’s vision to become a world-class research university. (DHW)
