UNDIP Prepares Competent Community Service Supervisors

The Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Prof. Dr.Ing. Ir. Suherman, S.T., M.T., officially opened the Training of Trainers (TOT) program for Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata / KKN) supervisors for UNDIP Community Service Team II in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The event, held in Surakarta, Jawa Tengah, was attended by 161 prospective lecturers for KKN supervisors.

“Alhamdulillah, thank you to all the prospective KKN lecturers for your willingness to guide KKN students in applying their knowledge to benefit the community,” said Prof. Suherman.

The Vice Head of LPPM UNDIP for Community Service, Prof. Dr. Rahayu, S.H., M.Hum., highlighted that this period’s KKN program has set a new record with over 7,000 students participating. The students will be deployed to 12 regions, namely: Pemalang Regency, Pekalongan Regency, Batang Regency, Temanggung Regency, Magelang Regency, Boyolali Regency, Klaten Regency, Sragen Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Surakarta Regency, Wonogiri Regency, and Surakarta City.

“To the prospective KKN supervisors, please pay close attention while guiding the students. Generational differences in communication, interaction, and discussion methods often lead to misunderstandings, particularly when they engage with the community. Please uphold UNDIP’s good name, demonstrate real contributions tailored to community needs based on scientific expertise, and maintain integrity,” Prof. Rahayu emphasized.

In his report, the Head of the Comunity Service Center (Pusat Pelayanan Kuliah Kerja Nyata / P2KKN), Kurniawan Teguh Martono, S.T., M.T., stated, “The implementation of KKN Team II for the 2023/2024 Academic Year will run from July 9 to August 21, 2024, under the theme ‘Inclusive Community Empowerment Through Superior Potential.’ Students will undertake activities comprising multidisciplinary programs, academic programs, and social community programs under the guidance of 254 KKN supervisors selected from this TOT program and previous sessions,” concluded Mr. Teguh.
