Semarang, Jawa Tengah (June 12, 2024) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) and Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia (ISBI) Aceh held a workshop over three days (June 12-16, 2024) at Ciputra Hotel Semarang as part of the mentoring program for ISBI Aceh’s transformation into a State University with a Public Service Agency (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Layanan Umum / PTN-BLU) status.
The workshop was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA, Head of the Planning and Development Agency (Badan Perencanaan dan Pengembangan / BPP) of UNDIP, who also welcomed the Rector of ISBI Aceh and the accompanying delegation to Semarang.
“We are delighted to assist our colleagues from ISBI Aceh. Regarding arts and culture, UNDIP has a Faculty of Humanities,” said Prof. Purwanto during his opening remarks.
“We hope that, with UNDIP’s guidance and preparation, ISBI Aceh’s transformation into PTN-BLU status can soon be realized and successfully implemented,” added Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) appointed UNDIP to mentor ISBI Aceh due to UNDIP’s experience in transitioning from a State University Operating Unit (PTN-Satker) to PTN-BLU and, since 2015, to a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH). The initial phase of the mentoring focuses on preparing the Self-Evaluation Document (DED) and the Minimum Service Standards (SPM).
“We thank you for welcoming us. Allow us to learn and hope that ISBI Aceh can soon attain PTN-BLU status and, possibly in the coming years, achieve PTN-BH status, accompanied by improvements in various aspects,” said ISBI Aceh Rector, Prof. Dr. Wildan, M.Pd.
During the workshop on preparing the DED and SPM, ISBI Aceh was represented by several delegates, including the Rector, Vice Rector II for General Planning and Finance, Dr. Marwan; Head of PKU, Al Munzir, M.Si.; Deputy Head of PKU, Ika Ariyanti, M.Si.; Deputy Head of Academic and Student Affairs, Amrullah, M.Si.; Chair of SPI, Haria Nanda, M.Sn.; and the ISBI Aceh Planning Team.
PTN-Satker refers to a State University operating as a working unit under the Ministry. All revenues, including student tuition fees, are deposited into the state treasury under the Ministry of Finance before being utilized. PTN-Satker status is determined through internal mechanisms within Kemendikbud Ristek.
The Government is currently encouraging several PTN-Satker institutions to transition and upgrade to PTN-BLU status. With PTN-BLU status, universities gain autonomy in managing non-tax revenues. (Public Relations – UNDIP)
