In his speech, UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed gratitude for God Almighty’s blessings that have allowed UNDIP to succeed and benefit its academic community. He conveyed his pride and congratulations to all the inaugurated employees, encouraging them to embrace their new responsibilities with dedication and accountability.
Prof. Suharnomo emphasized that work should be rooted in responsibility and gratitude for the opportunities provided, especially in an era of unbalanced labor demand and supply. “UNDIP upholds the principle of meritocracy. Those who perform well will be promoted to additional responsibilities. There are no promotions based on other factors,” he asserted.
He also stressed that with their new roles, employees must strive for better performance. The Rector reminded, “Everybody is a marketer. Let us work together for prosperity. Everyone must commit, not just the Rector and leadership. Be a good follower to be a good leader. As part of UNDIP, we must have a strong sense of belonging to the university. Let us uphold the dignity of our campus.”
Additionally, the Rector advised against engaging in online loans, which have become increasingly prevalent. With promotions, he hoped UNDIP employees would avoid illegal loans that could pose risks. “Don’t spend beyond your means; avoid online loans,” he concluded. (Titis – Media Relations)
