UNDIP Expands Health Services with New Vaccination Polyclinic and Laboratory at the Klinik Pratama Diponegoro I

UNDIP, SEMARANG (July 9, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing comprehensive and affordable health services for both the academic community and the general public with the inauguration of the Vaccination Polyclinic and Laboratory at the Klinik Pratama Diponegoro I. The facility offers a holistic, one-stop healthcare service that integrates promotive, preventive, and diagnostic approaches.

Under the theme “Empowering Wellness through Holistic One Stop Service,” the inauguration ceremony was held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Klinik Pratama Diponegoro I on UNDIP’s Tembalang Campus. It marks a strategic move toward expanding community-based healthcare services, aligning with UNDIP’s vision to be ‘Noble and Valuable.’

Dr. dr. Sutopo Patria Jati, M.M., M.Kes., Head of the Klinik Pratama Diponegoro, I expressed gratitude for the opening of this much-needed facility. He highlighted the importance of the clinic in serving UNDIP’s population of nearly 28,000 people—not including members of the general public who also rely on the clinic’s services.

“This clinic serves one of the largest populations—around 28,000—and that’s not counting roughly a third more from the public. This fact brings both opportunity and responsibility to continue advancing healthcare services,” he stated.

Two of the clinic’s flagship services include the Vaccination Polyclinic—developed in collaboration with Biofarma to promote disease prevention—and the Clinical Laboratory, which plays a vital role in supporting physicians’ diagnostic efforts. The clinic also provides free medical check-ups through partnerships with the Ministry of Health and the local health department.

“This is our shared clinic. It’s our commitment to continue supporting Universitas Diponegoro, especially in fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” Dr. Sutopo added. The clinic is also open to faculty and students interested in using the facility for collaborative research and community service.

Representing the UNDIP Rector at the event, Dr. Andriyani, S.E., M.M., Head of the Commercial Business and Risk Management Agency (BP UBIKAR), praised PT UNDIP MAJU for delivering new health services that benefit both the campus and the surrounding community.

“We truly appreciate this progressive step by PT UNDIP MAJU to expand healthcare access. It’s proof that UNDIP is not just an educational institution but also a driver of public health,” said Dr. Andriyani.

She emphasized the need for well-targeted business management that achieves clear and clean results. “This initiative proves that UNDIP is serious about delivering sustainable and integrated healthcare services,” she said.

During a media interview, general doctor and clinic manager Dr. Akhmad Ismail, M.Si., Med., introduced two core services launched at the event: Imunicare and a basic clinical laboratory.

“Through Imunicare, we offer vaccinations for various groups—from students receiving hepatitis and HPV vaccines to Umrah and Hajj pilgrims needing meningitis shots,” he explained.

The clinic’s basic laboratory now provides essential tests, including blood chemistry and hematology. It is supported by four certified doctors trained in vaccination techniques to ensure safe and professional immunization services.

These services position Klinik Pratama Diponegoro I as a competitive healthcare provider, comparable to public health centers (Puskesmas) and even surpassing many private clinics in terms of integrated offerings.

The clinic’s inauguration was marked by a symbolic earthen pot-breaking ceremony in front of the operational vehicle—representing the breaking of barriers and opening of pathways to success. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Andriyani, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., I.P.U., Chair of UNDIP’s Academic Senate, and Dr. Sutopo Patria Jati.

The event continued with a ribbon-cutting, a clinic facility tour, and free vaccination and lab services for guests—demonstrating the clinic’s commitment to immediate community impact.

With these new services, the Klinik Pratama Diponegoro I further strengthens the synergy between education, research, and community service—the core pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. More than just a medical facility, the clinic now serves as a collaborative space to create an inclusive, sustainable, and impactful health ecosystem. (Public Communication/ UNDIP/ DHW & Rona)
