Universitas Diponegoro students that are members of the Garuda Innovator Team won the gold medal, best invention, and special award at the Moscow International Invention and Innovative Technology (Archimedes) 2019 which took place on March 26-29 2019 in Moscow, Russia. The team members are Rifki Rokhanudin (FSM), Abdurrohman Hizbulloh (FEB), Intan Permata (FKM), Fatkhiyatus Sa’adah (FSM), Diina Ul Qoyyima (FKM), Ria Yunwiani (FSM), and Apriliani Ismi Fauziah (FKM) developing the Sun and Rain Innovation Roof (SRI Roof).
Rifki Rokhanudin revealed that this study aims to create alternative energy utilization innovations. One way that was sought is to find environmentally friendly energy sources that do not cause pollution and do not give radioactive effects. One of the renewable and environmentally friendly energy is solar energy and energy sourced from rainwater.
“Solar energy is obtained by using a solar cell system that is able to convert sunlight into electrical energy. While energy derived from rain water is obtained by using piezoelectric elements that are useful for converting rainwater pressure into electrical energy. Both of these technologies can be applied to building tiles in the tropics. ”
“For that we developed SRI Roof,” which is a two-season tile innovation based on Hybrid System Solar Cell and Piezoelectricity. Advantages of SRI Roof: Production of clean and environmentally friendly energy, supporting energy savings, easily available energy sources, reducing electricity costs, beautifying homes, and technology-based. ”
“The difference with the existing equipment is that the previous product only used solar cells, while the SRI Roof is a 2 season multifunctional tile, with the addition of piezoelectric, different appearance, namely there are elements of Mega Mendung batik art so it has more aesthetic value.”
Innovation of 2-season tile based on Hybrid System Solar Cell and piezoelectric as a producer of household scale electricity. Power generation system consisting of two or more generating systems with different energy sources. For example solar electricity combined with electricity from rainwater pressure becomes SRI Roof.
Rifki Rokhanudin and friends are the teams sent by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) at the Archimedes event in 2019 with a number of other teams. INNOPA as a private association that screens innovation projects by students and students to compete in international events in the hope that innovations that have been made can be developed and produced massively so that they are useful for the community.
Archimedes competitions and exhibitions are held annually by the Moscow City Organization VOIR and the International Innovation Club supported by the International Federation of Investors Association and the World Intellectual Property Organization. Archimedes this year was attended by more than 800 innovations from 22 countries, including Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, India, Romania, Czech, Macau, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Portugal, Moldova, Kuwai, Canada, Poland and Morocco. At the opening ceremony, there was also the Deputy Chief Representative of the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow Lasro Simbolon who also advanced the innovation of the Indonesian team.
Indonesian Ambassador to Russia, Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi felt very proud of the achievements made by Rifki Rokhanudin and team. “Sun and Rain Innovation Roof (SRI Roof) is a very good product of innovation, there is even one investor from Russia who is interested and hopefully can be used, and can be used for our community, most of whom still live in the countryside” he said during a visit Garuda Innovator team to the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow
