In 2022, Diponegoro University (Undip) again accepts new student candidates through the Selection for Excellent Students with Achievement (SBUB). Based on the Rector’s Regulation of Diponegoro University Number 1 of 2020 concerning New Student Admission, SBUB is a selection path of Undip’s new student admission in the form of practice that is specifically intended for prospective students who have superior achievements in their fields.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., stated that the purpose of holding SBUB is to attract students who have the potential to later play a role in upholding the name of the alma mater in various types of competitions at national and international levels. Participants who can register are students who have a minimum achievement of 1st place at the provincial level. Prospective students can choose two study programs according to the majors of SMA/MA, namely Natural Science / Social Science / Language.
“Students who are selected through the SBUB path are required to continue to excel in their respective branches after becoming students (besides being strong in their academic fields) and contributing to the University ranking value,” said Prof. Yos.
Based on the recap carried out by the Undip admission department, in 2022 there were 2,345 registrants and 830 of them passed Phase II to take aptitude tests and interviews. For those who qualify, the final results will be announced on April 26, 2022.
The types of achievements assessed can include one of the branched Science and Technology competitions (such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology olympiad competitions, robotics competitions, rocket competitions), Social Humanities (such as social olympiad competitions, English debate competitions, and business competitions), Religion (such as memorizing the Qur’an and other holy books), Arts (such as photography competitions, vocal voice competitions, and painting competitions), and Sports (such as karate, martial arts, and tennis competitions). Especially for religious branches, applicants for tahfidzul / memorizing the Qur’an, and memorizing other holy books will be given the opportunity to take part in the selection according to the existing stages.
