UNDIP Assisted Wonogiri Regency in Transforming Towards an Innovative Society through KKN Activities

Diponegoro University, Wonogiri Regency – Towards the end of the Community Service Program (KKN), Diponegoro University (Undip) students who took part in the Community Service Program in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java presented the results of the Community Service work programs. The presentation of the results of innovative works held at the Pracimantoro Sub-District Office, Wonogiri on Saturday morning (11/2/2023) is a form of report on the results of innovation from student research during KKN activities. Each KKN team of Praci Sub-District, Giritontro Sub-District, Manyaran Sub-District, Giriwoyo Sub-District and Eromoko Sub-District conveyed their flagship programs in the form of innovations that they had and are currently implementing. This flagship program is innovative based on field surveys and mapping of problems in each district.

According to the Deputy Academic Director, Dr. Eng. Agus Setyawan, S.Si., M.Si., KKN is a form of implementation of Undip students to apply their knowledge in making innovations to community problems in Wonogiri Regency.

“In the future, Undip will continue to synergize with Wonogiri Regency to create innovations and other programs such as village assistance, Kedaireka and others,” explained Dr. Eng. Agus Setyawan, S.Si., M.Si., when delivering his remarks.

Therefore, the KKN programs that are compiled and implemented by KKN students are programs that are needed by the community for problems that exist in the environment. The community hopes that the assistance from Undip students can continue in the future and the products of the current KKN student innovations will continue to be developed by the community through duplication, innovation development and others.

Some of the flagship programs for KKN students initiated by the Praci Sub-District KKN Team include agricultural product dryers and sumberagung mineral blocks (MIMBER) made from rice waste and sugarcane coated with cement as an alternative to livestock supplements. Meanwhile, the Giritontro Sub-District KKN Team has an innovation program in the form of utilizing cigarette butts as natural peptides and a program for making MSMEs organic fertilizer businesses based on social-community business. Then Manyaran Sub-District KKN Team made a tourism program with a  concept of Communal Space and a comfortable and ideal district garden, as well as lime water filtration technology system design to produce sustainable clean water.

The Giriwoyo Sub-District KKN Team presented flagship programs in the form of an integrated aquaponic system prototype, pest trap lights and an activity program called the Wenang Festival which was intended as a medium for promoting MSMEs products in Wonogiri. The programs by Eromoko Sub-District KKN Team include making compost from corn cobs and river tamarind, making corn fodder as a highly nutritious alternative feed for livestock, development program of Paranggupito tourism village in preparation for the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) competition, as well as product innovation for anti-backache fertilizer sowing.

Besides the Deputy Academic Director and the LPPM Undip team, a number of regional officials, representatives from Bappeda, and KKN supervisors were also present.
