In October 2023, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP) at Diponegoro University achieved brilliant achievements in one of the world-ranking institutions, namely EduRank. The Animal Science field of Undip is ranked 1st in Indonesia, which is proof of the hard work of the entire FPP academic community. Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang W.H.E.P., M.S., M.Agr., IPU, as Dean of FPP Undip, revealed that the achievements achieved by FPP Undip are proof of collaboration from all stakeholders.
“This proud achievement is proof that the lecturers continue to improve their teaching abilities, updating teaching materials based on case studies, research that meets user needs, students who continually seek innovation and take part in competitions, alumni support, and working together with partners are the keys to FPP Undip being able to be in this position,” said Prof. Bambang.
At the national level, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip is above the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Brawijaya University (UB), Airlangga University (UNAIR), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM), which are in the top 5 universities in Indonesia in the field of animal science. The number 1 position in Indonesia is much better because, in the previous ranking, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip was only ranked second. At the Undip level itself, the achievements of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences are ranked the best and highest compared to other faculties. This achievement at the national level will continue to encourage the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip to increase its activities at the international level.
Various internationalization activities have been carried out, ranging from educational and research collaborations, seminars, and visiting professors to public lectures with speakers from the top, well-known campuses, to name a few efforts. As a result, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip is the only one ranked in the top 10 in Asia in the field of animal science. The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip is ranked 5th in Asia. The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip managed to climb up 21 places, considering that in the previous ranking, it was ranked 26th at the Asian level. The scale is far above that of the world’s top universities, such as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Seoul National University, Chulalongkorn University, and National Taiwan University. At the Asian level, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip is only behind China Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Zhejiang University.
Not only at the Asian level, the progress of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip also continues to be awaited at the world level. The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip is now ranked 84th in the world, making it the only representative of Indonesia in the world’s top 100 ranking in the field of animal science. Even though in the previous ranking, The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip was ranked 203rd in the world. Of course, this is a proud achievement and needs to be further improved. Gradually, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang W.H.E.P., M.S., M.Agr., IPU, has a master plan to make the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip into the top 10 in the world.
“In the future, the immediate target is to be ranked in the top 50 in the world, gradually moving to the top 25 in the world, and to be consistently in the top 10 in the world. That is our big plan for the future. “Please pray for Undip’s Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture so that it can make Indonesia proud,” he concluded.
