UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo S.E., M.Si., welcomed the established cooperation. He hopes that the collaboration can be enhanced in other areas. “We are grateful for this cooperation; good people are helping. Today, we received a building grant for the Department of Civil Engineering, and we also received the “Bayan Peduli” Educational Scholarship for Neurology Specialist Program (PPDS) participants,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

According to Prof. Suharnomo, this cooperation is an excellent example of Triple Helix collaboration. “There are many things we have to strive for, and with the concept of cooperation, many things can be resolved. Additionally, this cooperation is a good Triple Helix model involving the campus, government, and companies. We cannot work alone; we must collaborate,” he explained.

In line with its tagline, “UNDIP with dignity, UNDIP with benefits,” UNDIP will continue to perform downstream and innovate so that the community can feel the benefits.

“Yesterday, we inaugurated a seawater desalination technology device at the UNDIP Teluk Awur Jepara Campus. With this technology, the drought problem in the surrounding area can hopefully be resolved. This technology can also be developed in other areas so that the surrounding community can feel the benefits,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

Prof. Suharnomo added that UNDIP will contribute to reducing extreme poverty in Central Java and aims to make the Central Java region a national food reserve. “The campus becomes a source for many things. Together with the government and industry, we run the Triple Helix collaboration,” he said.

The chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Foundation, Filda Citra Yusgiantoro, explained that this collaboration aims to develop the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which includes education, research, and community service. Dato’ dr. Low Tuck Kwong and Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., contributed to the construction of the Civil Engineering Department building.

“This building will later support the implementation of education for UNDIP Civil Engineering students. Hopefully, the result of this building can make a real contribution towards the Development of Golden Indonesia by 2045,” said Filda Citra Yusgiantoro.

On the same occasion, the Director of PT Bayan Resources Tbk, Merlin Sanjaya, stated that the signing of the memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreements is an essential milestone for the Bayan Group to continue contributing to improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

“This activity is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to actively participate in the field of education to build better quality human resources in Indonesia. Through the construction of building facilities and this educational program, we hope the noble goals of all involved parties can be realized well,” said Merlin.

In his report, the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Jati Utomo Dwi Hatmoko, S.T., M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that the construction of the Civil Engineering Department building is planned to be five stories high and will take 18 months to complete. “This building will be constructed using green building principles to be more environmentally friendly. Hopefully, it can improve the quality of learning in the Civil Engineering Department and for the Faculty of Engineering at UNDIP,” concluded Prof. Jati.
