UNDIP Graduate, Hanna Sazidah: Be an Educated Generation

“Be a generation that is educated, courageous, full of enthusiasm, and don’t be lazy,” said Hanna Sazidah when sharing the joyful moment of being declared the best graduate with a cum laude honors and a GPA of 3.84. She was officially inaugurated at the 175th UNDIP Graduation Ceremony on July 29, 2024, at the Muladi Dome Multipurpose Building (GSG) UNDIP, Tembalang Campus.

She recalled her journey to UNDIP through the 2020 SNMPTN entrance route in the Oceanography study program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Diponegoro University, and finally completing her studies in 3 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

According to Hanna, as an educated generation, there are no limits to learning and no boundaries in self-development. “Don’t be afraid to take on challenges, and don’t hesitate to try new things. Even though there are many shortcomings, it’s okay because every small step will provide knowledge and experience and guide us towards a greater path of success,” she said.

Hanna felt very impressed during her studies at UNDIP. For her, UNDIP is a state university that is “centric and friendly.” UNDIP thoroughly prepares students for their future careers with networking opportunities and career guidance.

“During my studies at Diponegoro University, I experienced significant personal transformation, including the development of independence, interpersonal skills, and self-confidence. I gained valuable insights from the lecturers and learned various perspectives or viewpoints from friends in learning as well as in observing issues and problems in the surrounding environment,” Hanna explained.

The success story is evident from Hanna’s active involvement in research activities and academic competitions, where she participated in national competitions and research. One of the competitions she won was the Top 5 Case Study Competition GEOSCOPE UGM 2021 and PKM-KC Funding 2021. In non-academic competitions, she was named the Best Participant in LKMMPD Kelautan UNDIP 2020 and the Best Participant in the MSIB program at Orbit Kampus Artificial Intelligence 4 Jobs in 2023.

“In 2024, Alhamdulillah, my friends and I successfully published an international proceeding in Springer Proceedings in Physics Volume 305 titled ‘Investigating the Fujiwhara Effect on Seroja TC and Odette TC on Upwelling Patterns Using EMT and EPV Spatial Analysis’ and in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES) titled ‘Instrumentation for Monitoring and Early Warning of Tidal Flood Using ESP3252 Microcontroller and A01NYUB Ultrasonic Sensor in Tambakrejo, Semarang.’ From these activities, I was also invited to be a speaker at student events in LKMMPD Pertanian 2023 and TLD FPIK 2023,” she added.

The student activities at UNDIP provide opportunities for students to hone skills and leadership and build beneficial relationships. “Education and involvement in organizations are investment opportunities for the future. With strong education and organizational involvement, we can build a better future for ourselves and the world around us,” said Hanna.

Moreover, the facilities available at UNDIP help support students’ needs and abilities. “I see UNDIP as a very generous campus towards its students; it is known as the only state university that provides free meals, free campus buses, and free bicycle rentals, and it is quick to respond to students’ complaints regarding infrastructure and curriculum,” she concluded.
