195 New Engineers of PSPPI of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP Participate in the 11th Engineer Oath-Taking Ceremony

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI) of the Faculty of Engineering at UNDIP held its 11th Engineer Oath-Taking Ceremony for the July 2024 period. The event took place at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, on the UNDIP Tembalang Campus and was attended by 195 new engineers who graduated from the PSPPI of the Faculty of Engineering at UNDIP.

This Engineer Oath-Taking Ceremony marks one of the latest achievements of the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering at UNDIP. For the first time, the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering successfully took the oath of its graduates from the entire Regular Program, which spans two semesters. Previously, the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering had offered engineer professional classes through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route and the Accelerated Regular Program, which lasted one semester.

“Out of 195 engineers, Alhamdulillah, this period already includes a Regular class. Previously, there was an Accelerated Regular class, and now there is a Regular class that spans two semesters, although still in a small number. Hopefully, with the implementation of this Regular class, the vision of the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering UNDIP can be achieved,” said the Head of PSPPI Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Widayat, ST., MT., IPM.

In the July 2024 period, it was recorded that 146 engineer graduates successfully achieved cum laude honors. Additionally, in this period, the engineers received the Professional Engineer Certificate (SIP) in place of a diploma, following Law No. 14 of 2014 concerning Engineering.

The Secretary General of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), Ir. Bambang Goeritno, M.Sc., MPA., IPU., APEC Engineer, appreciated the increase in the number of engineers who successfully graduated from the PSPPI Faculty of Engineering at UNDIP this time. He hopes that this number will continue to grow in the future.

“I would like to congratulate you because now there are 195 engineers who have graduated. I believe this breaks a record, as the previous numbers did not reach this level. And the total number (of graduates from PSPPI Faculty of Engineering UNDIP) has now reached 945. The number of graduates means that a significant number of engineers have been produced. I hope the engineers here can become ambassadors in their workplaces to encourage their colleagues to join the engineering program,” he said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T, M.T, IPU, welcomed the new engineers in this period. He hopes that the new engineers will reflect on the primary purpose of the engineer title they have obtained. “The most important thing is, with the addition of this title, is there a difference? If not, then why did you pursue it? It is the question that must be answered,” Prof. Jamari said in his remarks.
