UNDIP, Semarang (27/4) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) once again held its 182nd Graduation Ceremony at the Muladi Dome, the multipurpose hall of the Tembalang campus. The event, held over three days from April 27 to 29, 2026, marked a significant milestone for graduates who completed their academic journey with dedication. As a reputable higher education institution, UNDIP remains committed to producing high-quality graduates with global competitiveness across various fields.
Opening the ceremony, Chair of the UNDIP Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the graduation of 2,479 students would not have been possible without the support of families and close ones. Equipped with strong competencies, UNDIP graduates are expected to become agents of change and contributors to the advancement of human civilization.
In his remarks, UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed pride in the graduates’ achievements. UNDIP has also strengthened its global standing, ranking 624th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and among the top 10 universities in Indonesia for graduate employability. Additionally, several study programs have achieved international accreditation and ranked within the world’s top 500, reinforcing UNDIP’s position as a credible global research university.
“UNDIP graduates are resilient individuals, hardworking, and highly loyal to their professions and alma mater. Our global ranking achievements and high employability further strengthen UNDIP’s position as a credible research university,” the UNDIP Rector stated.
In line with the tagline “Noble and Valuable UNDIP,” the university continues to provide real solutions to societal challenges. One notable innovation is a desalination machine capable of converting brackish or seawater into drinkable water.
“This technology has benefited various regions in Central Java—such as Brebes, Demak, and Pati regencies—and even extended to disaster-affected areas in Sumatra. Other innovations include hybrid seawalls, saline-tolerant rice and tilapia, and pyrolysis technology to improve community welfare, particularly in coastal areas,” Prof. Suharnomo stated.
At the end of his speech, the Rector advised graduates to uphold integrity and strive to benefit others. He quoted Jack Ma’s three principles for success: setting priorities, caring for others by contributing to solutions, and “never complaining about anything,” as complaints do not solve problems.
UNDIP students have also achieved remarkable accomplishments, including winning first place in the 2025 National Outstanding Student Competition (Pilmapres) for both undergraduate and diploma categories. In technology, the Antawirya team brought international recognition through energy-efficient car innovation at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia Pacific and Middle East 2026.
In his academic report, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., detailed that the 2,479 graduates consisted of 61 doctoral graduates, 296 master’s graduates, 40 specialists, 37 professionals, 1,984 bachelor’s graduates, and 61 applied bachelor’s graduates. Notably, 1,751 graduates (70.63%) achieved cum laude honors. Outstanding graduates in publication categories were also recognized, including Muhammad Fajar Purnama (Doctor of Aquatic Resource Management) with five publications and Dita Aulia Azizah (Doctor of Chemical Engineering) with seven publications, among others.
The graduation ceremony involved students from 11 faculties and 2 schools and was held over three days by faculty groups. The schedule is below:
