Entrepreneurship Training for Master of Animal Science at Diponegoro University in Collaboration with Cattle Farmer from Kalimantan

Master of Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University held an Entrepreneurship Training for Master of Animal Science students by online on September 15th 2021. The Entrepreneurship Training Program is a routine program organized by Master of Animal Science Study Program with the aim to train and develop an entrepreneurial spirit as well as to provide information on business opportunities in the livestock sector. This time’s activity raised the theme of “Be a Smart Entrepreneur: How to Build for a Successful Business”. The material was presented by Suhardi, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., a teaching staff and researcher at Mulawarman University and also serves as the Director of CV. Sentra Sapi Kalimantan and CV Commissioner. His company, Lembu Lemu, is a cattle fattening and trading company based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

The training was attended by all active students in the Master of Animal Science Study Program of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip and was opened by the Dean of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Waluyo Hadi Eko Prasetiyono, MS, M.Agr., IPU. In this activity, the resource person conveyed tips on starting a business in the livestock sector. Opportunities and types of business in the livestock sector, business models, business development processes, and tips on identifying customers and competitors were also explained by Dr. Suhardi in the training activities. Sharing sessions with students on the problems of starting and developing a business in the livestock sector were also conducted by Dr. Suhardi in the activity.

By holding this Entrepreneurship Training, graduates of Master of Animal Science of Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Undip are expected to not only become researchers, lecturers or bureaucrats, but can also become excellent businessmen in the livestock sector.
