Semarang – Central Java. The Diponegoro University International Office (KUI Undip) successfully organized departure preparations for the 2023 IISMA Awardees at the Aruss Hotel, Semarang (23/05). This event also invited Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., as a Clinical and Health Psychologist, representatives of IISMA and IISMAeVo 2022, Rafi Fauzan Abdillah from the Faculty of Law Undip, and Derryl Joshua Aleyhandro from the Undip Vocational School.
The activity started at 09.00 WIB, starting with the opening by the Master of Ceremony, followed by remarks by Hanifa M. Denny, S.KM., M.P.H., Ph.D. as the Director of the Directorate of Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs. In her speech, she advised the awardees always to maintain the good name of Indonesia wherever they are. The event was continued with material on Cross-Cultural Understanding by the Head of the International Office, Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D. In line with Hanifa, Anggun advised the awardees to always comply with religious, legal, and social norms wherever they are.
The next session was filled with presentations and sharing from Rafi Fauzan Abdillah (University of Zagreb, Croatia) and Derryl Joshua Aleyhandro (IU International University of Applied Science). In their sharing, they advised the IISMA scholarship recipients to research the intended host country first. It starts from food and culture to Do & Don’t’s, which must be done by awardees in the host country. The last session was filled with material on psychological reinforcement and questions and answers by Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. One of the messages conveyed was, “Keep learning in this life before life gives its lessons because life’s lessons are hard.” (AH–AS)
