The internationalization of higher education is defined as a process within universities that integrates international components into educational goals, functions, or delivery (including curriculum development and innovation; exchange of faculty and students; development and expansion of study programs; and joint research/publications).
In line with this objective, the Agribusiness Study Program at Diponegoro University seeks to accelerate its achievement by developing cooperation with foreign institutions on a broader scale, quantitatively (number of collaborations), and in partnership with foreign institutions.
The Agribusiness Study Program consists of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Agribusiness and operates under the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences at Diponegoro University.
One of the initiatives undertaken by the Agribusiness Study Program is the organization of ISA 2023 (International Seminar on Agribusiness 2023) on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023. The theme of this seminar is: “Resilience of the Agricultural Sector in The Global Food Crisis.” According to the chairman of the committee, Siwi Gayatri, Ph.D., this event invited four speakers from leading universities worldwide, namely Prof. Alan Renwick (Lincoln University), Prof. Datuk Dr. Mad Nasir Shamsudin (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Prof. Kwansoo Kim (Seoul National University), Prof. Quentin Grafton (Australian National University), and internal speaker Prof. Agus Setiadi from Diponegoro University.
The highlight of this international event is the effort to address issues surrounding the resilience of the agricultural sector in the global food crisis. The results of this seminar serve as a basis for decision-making that needs to be considered by policymakers and other stakeholders to enhance food sovereignty within the global system. The International Agribusiness Seminar 2023 also bridges high-quality articles to be published in Scopus-indexed proceedings.
