This moment symbolized the beginning of the new leadership relay, continuing the strategic role of students as critical and constructive partners of the university—adaptive, inclusive, and capable of creating tangible impact for the academic community and society at large.

In his address, the Rector emphasized that students are key drivers of social change, playing a strategic role not only on campus but also within society. He reminded attendees that organizational activities are not merely complements to academic learning, but vital spaces for character building, leadership development, and the courage to take initiative.

“Student organizations are strategic arenas for cultivating leadership, expanding networks, and building character. I hope the 2026 Ormawa leaders can serve as role models, uphold the dignity of the institution, and deliver programs that have a real impact on students and society,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

He also encouraged each organization to address contemporary challenges, including digital transformation, sustainability, and strengthening students’ soft skills. “Organizational experience shapes the way we think and act. What is needed is not only cognitive intelligence, but also sensitivity, creativity, and moral responsibility. Activism must be carried out with awareness, integrity, and by upholding the core values of Universitas Diponegoro,” he stated.

Furthermore, Prof. Suharnomo urged leaders of student organizations to continue learning vertically through disciplinary expertise while also growing horizontally by enriching cross-disciplinary, social, and humanitarian perspectives. He emphasized the importance of courage in facing challenges, adaptability, and maintaining ethics and UNDIP’s good name in all forms of student activism. “Be courageous, creative, and responsible activists—able to move forward amid challenges without abandoning moral values and a spirit of togetherness,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Nur Maajid Taufiqurrahman, Chair of the UNDIP Student Executive Board (BEM) 2026, stated in his remarks that BEM UNDIP exists not merely as an event organizer, but as a servant of students and a guardian of collective interests. Upholding the principle “No One Left Behind, No Issues Ignored,” BEM UNDIP 2026 is committed to building synergy with the university in responding to strategic student issues and ensuring that every program implemented is relevant, solution-oriented, and impactful for students and society.

In line with this, Hilmi Khoodhi Harsaputra, Chair of the UNDIP Student Senate 2026, emphasized the importance of revitalizing student organizations as meaningful learning spaces by maintaining continuity and institutional dignity amid changing student interests. He stated that student organizations must continue to transform into adaptive and meaningful platforms for personal development—focused not only on short-term outcomes, but also on character building, integrity, and students’ social responsibility as agents of change with long-term societal impact.

The inauguration of the UNDIP Student Organization Boards for 2026 is expected to mark the start of strengthening students’ roles as critical, solution-oriented, and ethical agents of change, in line with UNDIP’s vision as a noble and valuable campus. (Public Communication/UNDIP/DHW & As3)
