Diponegoro University (Undip), through the Institute of Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP2MP), participated in an international education expo, the Indonesia International Education Training Expo & Conference (IIETE). The expo was themed “Never Stop Learning” and held four days from the 22nd to the 25th of February 2024 at B Hall, Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC).
The attendees of the IIETE 2024 opening include the Head of Cooperation and Public Relations of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Yayat Hendayana, S.S., M.Si.; the President Director of PT Wahyu Promo Citra, HM Sukur Sakka; the Vice-Chairman of Indonesian Rectorate Forum, Prof. Dr. Didin Muhafidin SIP, M.Si; the Chief of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI); and the ambassador of neighboring countries.
IIETE 2024 brought 100 exhibitors from Indonesia’s and the world’s favorite public and private universities, course institutions, digital education, education-supporting industries and educational institutions from within and outside the country. Some favorite universities that attended IIETE 2024 were the University of Indonesia (UI), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Hasanuddin University, Polytechnic of State Finance STAN, Health Polytechnic, Atma Jaya University, Open University, Bina Nusantara, Mercu Buana, LSPR, and many more.
Diponegoro University’s booth located at B Hall 37 was expected to attract high school/vocational school/equivalent students and parents. The presence of psychological services by Undip’s Psychology Service Team was aimed to give insights to students and parents in deciding on majors that are in line with students’ talents, interests, and potential. Through these psychological services, it was intended that students could decide on their study program that aligns with their skills and passion. This service is essential to ensure that students finish their studies well. The Undip Socialization and Promotion Team also offered prime services by giving them informative answers and explanations for every question presented by the students and parents.
Furthermore, the Undip Socialization and Promotion Team explained Diponegoro University’s profile in detail, including the selections of study programs, facilities, service applications, location access, university achievements, student activity units, and scholarship programs. The visitors were also given recent information on the 2024 SNBP and SNBT scheduling. The visitors not only got to make inquiries on their preferred major, but they also got to experience practical knowledge through demonstrations from a department and firsthand experience from Undip ambassador students at the IIETE 2024 expo.
Besides the success of Undip participation at this expo, establishing awareness of the variety and the excellence of Undip study programs has brought a positive impression to high school/vocational school/equivalent students to continue to higher studies with better understanding. Not only for promotion, this event was also a step for Undip towards the future students in the capital and the surrounding cities.
