Targeting Prospective Students Outside Jawa Island, UNDIP Participates in Education Expo in Medan City

As a concrete step to introduce Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) beyond Jawa Island and attract prospective students to continue their studies at UNDIP, the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP2MP) UNDIP participated in the Campus EXPO MKKS Medan City. The Expo took place from October 16-17, 2024, at the Tiara Convention Center in Medan City and was inaugurated by the Head of the Medan City Education Office Branch. On the first day, UNDIP’s booth was crowded with high school (SMA/SMK) students from Medan City and its surrounding areas. The students enthusiastically asked questions about UNDIP’s location, facilities, profile, faculties, study programs, scholarships, and its distinct advantages. The UNDIP representatives at the booth, comprising students and staff from UNDIP’s Admissions Helpdesk, responded promptly and warmly to all inquiries.

On the first day of the exhibition, the UNDIP Promotion and Socialization Team was invited to present UNDIP’s profile, its faculties, programs, and strengths at Jabbal Rahmah Mulia Senior High School (SMAS). The Head of Admissions and Promotions at LP2MP delivered a 45-minute presentation and concluded the session by encouraging and motivating students to remain diligent and strive to achieve their dreams.

Later in the afternoon, a Postgraduate Socialization and Promotion event was held in the Sisingamangaraja Meeting Room. The session was vibrant and engaging, beginning with presentations by program heads and lecturers representing their respective programs. Each head of the program presented a 30-minute overview of their program, followed by in-depth coaching sessions for participants interested in UNDIP’s Postgraduate Programs.

On the second day, the team was divided into two groups: one remained at the UNDIP booth. At the same time, the other conducted socialization and promotions at SMAN 1 Balige and Institut Teknologi Del. The event at SMAN 1 Balige was met with a warm and enthusiastic response, with students asking a variety of questions that reflected a high level of interest in UNDIP. A similar atmosphere was observed during the session at the Institut Teknologi Del, where the Rector, Vice Rector, Deans, lecturers, and students attentively listened to presentations by LP2MP’s Secretary and Head of Admissions and Promotions. The session concluded with a group photo and an exchange of souvenirs.

The series of educational exhibitions and socialization activities in Medan City aim to boost interest among prospective UNDIP students, not only from Jawa Island but from across Indonesia. This initiative seeks to enhance UNDIP’s reputation nationally and internationally.
