UNDIP, Semarang (August 8, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro’s Faculty of Engineering (FT UNDIP) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international academic networks and boosting the number of globally recognized publications. As part of its World Class University program, UNDIP successfully held the 6th Geoplanning International Conference and Scientific Consortium on August 6–7, 2025, at the Engineering Hall, Faculty of Engineering. Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ir. Nita Aryanti, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM, officially opened the event.
The conference was organized under the coordination of the Geomatics and Planning Laboratory, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, led by Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Imam Buchori. More than just a biennial agenda for researchers in GIS and Remote Sensing, the conference served as a platform to expand global connections within the scientific community. The forum featured experts who played a key role in delivering insights and reviewing the quality of scientific publications resulting from the event.

UNDIP partnered with leading international figures, including Prof. Dr. Alexander Zipf from the Geographical Institute of Heidelberg University, Germany, ranked 47th worldwide by Times Higher Education (THE). Collaborations also included Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Mustafa Üstüner from Samsun University, Turkey, and Assoc. Prof. Sr. Dr. Siti Aekbal from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. From UNDIP, speakers included Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wiwandari Handayani and Dr. Anang Wahyu Sejati.
The international conference drew more than 100 participants from eight countries, underscoring the global community’s enthusiasm and trust in UNDIP’s role as a hub for knowledge development in urban planning, GIS, and Remote Sensing.
Through the 6th Geoplanning International Conference and Scientific Consortium, UNDIP reinforced its efforts to increase both the number and quality of publications, particularly those indexed in reputable international databases such as SCOPUS and Web of Science (WoS). The event underscored UNDIP’s contribution to strengthening its global reputation and solidifying its position as a leading research university under the motto “Noble and Valuable UNDIP.” (Public Communication/ UNDIP/ FT/ DPWK)
