SEMARANG, Indonesia (August 22, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) marked a significant moment in its institutional journey with the inauguration of new officials and the taking oath of civil servants and permanent non-civil servant employees on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, Tembalang Campus.
The oath-taking ceremony was led by UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., involving 16 newly appointed officials, two newly recruited civil servants officially appointed on June 1, 2025, and 106 permanent non-civil servant employees who began their duties on August 1, 2025. Employees are assigned to various faculties, work units, and the university’s teaching hospitals.
In his remarks, the Rector stressed that the oath of office represents a mandate that must be upheld throughout their service.
Prof. Suharnomo urged all employees to step out of their comfort zones and strengthen collaboration among management, faculty, and administrative staff. “Everyone has an important role. With the right mindset, we can move forward together toward positive change,” he said.
In research, the Rector emphasized boosting both the quantity and quality of studies funded by external sources, reducing UNDIP’s reliance on internal funding. Research, he said, should not be treated as a mere obligation of faculty members but as a driver of innovation that benefits society.
Prof. Suharnomo also highlighted the importance of integrity, professionalism, and an adaptive work culture. According to him, a leader’s role is to create a healthy, transparent work environment with open communication, fostering a strong sense of belonging to UNDIP.
“Let’s do our best in our respective fields, grow together, and nurture a shared sense of ownership. Holding office should simplify bureaucracy, not complicate it, so that we can achieve our common goals more quickly. May UNDIP continue to move forward and bring blessings to all,” he concluded.
