Art Center of the Faculty of Humanities UNDIP Becomes the 2025 Pilmapres Judging Hub, Two UNDIP Students Advance to National Finals

UNDIP, Semarang (October 27, 2025) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) was entrusted as the host of the 2025 National Outstanding Student Competition (Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi / Pilmapres)—a prestigious event initiated by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) under the coordination of the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikti Saintek RI).

Carrying the theme “Shaping an Excellent, Achieving, Beneficial, and Impactful Generation for an Advanced Indonesia,” the competition brought together 31 of Indonesia’s best students, comprising 15 undergraduates and 16 diploma holders from universities across the country.

UNDIP takes pride in the achievements of its two students, who successfully advanced to the national finals: Felicia Hestiawan, Undergraduate Program Finalist, and Callysta Najmi Raissa, Diploma Program Finalist. Both exemplify UNDIP students who excel not only academically but also through community service, innovation, and leadership development. Their presence reflects UNDIP’s strong commitment to nurturing a generation of young people who are globally competitive, ethical, and socially impactful.

The year 2025 marks a historic moment for UNDIP, as for the first time, the Art Center Building of the Faculty of Humanities, UNDIP, was used as the official venue for the judging and final round of the National Pilmapres for both Undergraduate and Diploma categories. Officially inaugurated on September 12, 2024, by UNDIP Rector Prof. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., the building was designed as a multifunctional space integrating artistic, cultural, and academic values, fostering creativity, innovation, and scholarly activities on both national and international scales.

UNDIP Rector Prof. Suharnomo expressed his appreciation for the Faculty of Humanities’ involvement in hosting this year’s National Pilmapres. He stated that using the Art Center as the central venue for a national event embodies the spirit of “Noble and Valuable UNDIP” and represents the university’s commitment to providing an academic space that is inspiring, inclusive, and impactful to the broader community. “Being the host of the National Pilmapres is both an honor and a great responsibility for UNDIP to strengthen its strategic role as an excellent and impactful university,” he remarked.

Throughout the 2025 Pilmapres, the Art Center Building served as the hub for various judging sessions, including Outstanding Achievements Presentation (CU), Innovative Product (PI), English Proficiency (BI), Creative Ideas (GK), and Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD). The assessment process was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Illah Sailah, M.S., from IPB University, and involved 23 national judges. All sessions were held in the Art Center’s thematic rooms, such as the Dance Studio, Music Studio, Film Studio, Creative Room, and Exhibition Hall.

The UNDIP Art Center itself features an auditorium with a 177-seat capacity and is equipped with various supporting facilities, including backstage preparation rooms. In addition to serving as a center for artistic activities, the building is also ideal for hosting seminars, conferences, public lectures, and other academic events—reflecting UNDIP’s vision as an adaptive, collaborative campus focused on developing creative and educational spaces.

The Opening Ceremony was held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, while the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 National Pilmapres is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Prof. Sudarto, S.H. Hall, UNDIP Tembalang Campus—recognized as one of the university’s most representative venues for national-scale academic and state events.

The 2025 National Pilmapres series runs from October 24 to 28, 2025, including participant registration, briefing sessions, opening ceremony, judging rounds, leaderless group discussions, and the National Outstanding Student Awarding Night at Prof. Sudarto, SH Building Hall. Participants also joined Campus and City Tours to explore Semarang’s iconic landmarks, such as Sam Poo Kong, Lawang Sewu, and the Old Town cultural district, and to experience local wisdom and the spirit of diversity that defines Indonesia’s national identity.

By hosting the 2025 National Pilmapres, UNDIP reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This event serves as tangible proof of UNDIP’s dedication to shaping an excellent, globally competitive young generation with integrity and a substantial contribution to building an inclusive, adaptive, and impactful higher education ecosystem.
