Christmas Celebration at Universitas Diponegoro

UNDIP, Semarang (26/1) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) held the Christmas Celebration at Universitas Diponegoro 2025 on Monday (January 26, 2026) at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNDIP. The event was attended by lecturers, educational staff, students, and the extended family of Universitas Diponegoro. This year’s Christmas celebration carried the theme “God Is Present to Save the Family.”

The series of events began with welcoming remarks from the Chair of the Christian Fellowship of Universitas Diponegoro (Persekutuan Umat Kristiani / PUK UNDIP), Prof. Ir. Didik Wisnu Widjajanto, M.Sc., Ph.D., who emphasized the meaning of Christmas as a moment of faith reflection and togetherness.

“The Universitas Diponegoro’s Christmas Celebration is a moment for reflection on faith and togetherness as one big UNDIP family. The theme God Is Present to Save the Family affirms that God’s love and salvation are manifested through relationships, service, and care. Through this Christmas celebration, the UNDIP Christian Fellowship hopes that the values of love, hope, and sincerity will continue to thrive in academic life, in line with the spirit of a Noble and Valuable UNDIP,” he stated.

The next remarks were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Diponegoro, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., who expressed appreciation for the organization of the Christmas celebration within the FISIP UNDIP environment.

“FISIP UNDIP is delighted to host the Universitas Diponegoro’s Christmas Celebration and is committed to providing the best service. The spirit of Christmas is expected to strengthen the values of care, humanity, and service that shape academic members who are dignified and beneficial to society,” he said.

The Universitas Diponegoro’s Christmas Celebration 2026 was officially opened by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si. In his opening remarks, the Rector reaffirmed UNDIP’s commitment to building academic excellence grounded in humanitarian values and character development.

“Universitas Diponegoro is not only oriented toward academic excellence, but also toward character building and humanitarian values. This Christmas celebration serves as a reminder that family—both the nuclear family and the larger campus community—is the main foundation in building a civilized society. With the spirit of Christmas, let us continue to strengthen our commitment to a Noble UNDIP, through integrity and moral values, and to a Valuable UNDIP Bermanfaat, through tangible contributions to the nation and society. With gratitude, I hereby declare the Christmas Celebration at Universitas Diponegoro 2025 officially open,” he affirmed.

The Christmas worship service was conducted solemnly, featuring a Christmas sermon delivered by Rm. JB. Ibnu Fajar Muchammad, MSF, emphasized God’s presence as a source of restoration and hope for families. Pdm. Yehezkiel Adrianus Feri Susanto, S.AB., M.Th., also delivered a Christmas message, inviting all participants to live out the values of love, forgiveness, and care as they build families and an inclusive campus community.

Through the Christmas Celebration at Universitas Diponegoro 2025, UNDIP once again reaffirmed its identity as a higher education institution that not only excels academically but is also noble and valuable, in harmony with the spirit of tolerance, togetherness, and diversity within the campus environment.
