UNDIP, Semarang (28/1) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) continues to strengthen its position as a globally oriented research university, aiming to become a World-Class University (WCU). On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, UNDIP held the Entry Meeting for the ASIIN International Accreditation Visit as part of the accreditation process for the Bachelor’s Program in Public Health, at the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus. This activity constituted an important stage in the international accreditation assessment conducted by the Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN), bringing together university leaders, program administrators, and the ASIIN assessment team.
UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., together with the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., and the Vice Rector for Human Resources, Information Technology, Law, and Organization Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., personally welcomed the ASIIN delegation: Prof. Dr. Vasiliki Kolovou (Saarland University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dr. Alice Assinger (Medical University of Vienna), Dr. Agnes Aslin Mallipu (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition), Mr. Sayyaf Abiyyu (Universitas Airlangga), and Mr. Johann Jakob Winter, M.Sc. (ASIIN Manager).
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo introduced UNDIP as one of Indonesia’s leading universities, currently comprising 11 faculties and 2 schools. “UNDIP upholds the principles of good governance and embraces digital transformation. We also have several Centers of Excellence that support the downstream application of innovations for community benefit, such as CoREM (Center for Coastal Rehabilitation and Disaster Mitigation Studies), environmentally friendly shrimp cultivation at the Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP UNDIP), the Membrane Research Center (MeRC), and many others,” he explained.
Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto stated that the Bachelor’s Program in Public Health at the Faculty of Public Health, UNDIP, is one of the most popular programs, consistently attracting a high number of applicants each year. Echoing this, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Prof. Dr. Budiyono, S.KM., M.Kes., noted, “UNDIP supports government programs aimed at increasing the number of public health specialists with expertise in nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation. UNDIP’s Faculty of Public Health has collaborated with universities both domestically and internationally, including a joint research program with National Taiwan University that has been ongoing since 2024.”
The Bachelor’s Program in Public Health at UNDIP is recognized for several strengths, including an outcome-based curriculum responsive to global health issues, the integration of promotive and preventive health sciences, and the strengthening of graduate competencies in research- and community service-based public health.
The Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity at UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., added that UNDIP actively supports both inbound and outbound student mobility. “There are several scholarship schemes that support UNDIP students studying abroad as well as international students wishing to study at UNDIP, including the Diponegoro Global Scholarship (DGS), Diponegoro Exchange Experience Program (DEEP), Developing Countries Partnership (KNB), and the Republic of Indonesia Darmasiswa Program (DRI),” he explained.
In addition, UNDIP provides consultation opportunities for students at both the faculty and university levels, including through the Halo UNDIP live chat service and the annual discussion forum “Duduk Bareng Rektor” (Dialogue with the Rector).
This international accreditation visit marks a significant step for the Bachelor’s Program in Public Health at UNDIP toward the global stage, driven by improvements in academic quality, governance, and quality assurance systems aligned with international standards.
