UNDIP, Jepara (19/4) – In commemoration of the 48th anniversary of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara, the hospital organized the Kartini Fun Run 2026 at the UNDIP Jepara Campus as part of promotive and preventive efforts to raise public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event took place in the Teluk Awur area of Universitas Diponegoro, Jepara Regency. It was attended by approximately 3,000 participants, including members of the general public, healthcare professionals, and students from around the world.
The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., officially flagged off the participants of the Kartini Fun Run 2026, which featured 5K and 3K runs as well as a 3K fun walk. The event was also attended by the Regent of Jepara, Witiarso Utomo, and the Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini, dr. Tri Iriantiwi.
Jepara Regent Witiarso Utomo warmly welcomed all participants. “Stay enthusiastic and enjoy the run until the finish line,” he said.
Rector Suharnomo expressed pride that the UNDIP Jepara Campus was selected as the venue for this significant event. He emphasized that the event not only promotes sports but also strengthens the relationship between the community, UNDIP, and RSUD R.A. Kartini in Jepara.
“UNDIP in Jepara currently offers undergraduate programs in Law, Nursing, Fisheries and Marine Technology and Business (TBPK). InsyaAllah, next year UNDIP will open a Naval Engineering program in collaboration with the Jepara Regency Government,” said the Rector. “Moving forward, UNDIP will continue to synergize with the Jepara Regency Government to improve the Human Development Index (HDI), which will ultimately enhance community welfare,” he added.
The Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara, dr. Tri Iriantiwi, expressed her appreciation for UNDIP’s support in providing facilities for the successful implementation of the Kartini Fun Run 2026 as part of the hospital’s 48th anniversary celebration.
In addition to the fun run, the anniversary celebration also featured various supporting activities, including free health check-ups, blood donation drives, charity distribution for orphans, persons with disabilities, and special schools (SLB), as well as the involvement of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that enlivened the event.
Another important agenda item was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara and the Rector of UNDIP on domestic and wastewater management.
This cross-sector collaboration between an educational institution and a healthcare provider is expected to create strong synergies to improve quality of life, environmental sustainability, and community well-being. (Public Communication/ UNDIP/ Ut)
