UNDIP, Semarang (4/5) – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro again showed its commitment in producing superior medical personnel through the achievements of dr. Mega Pandu Arfiyanti, M.MedEd, Sp.MK who earned a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.00 as the best graduate of the Microbiology Specialist Doctor Education Program in April 2026.
This achievement is not only an academic achievement, but also reflects the quality of the educational system of the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP which is integrated between theory, laboratory practice, and clinical application, also supported by a supportive and collaborative academic environment. Doctor Mega expressed gratitude for the achievement. According to her, this success is the result of a long process full of challenges, family support, and guidance from lecturers.
“Being the best graduate is not just about scores, but the result of a process that is taken seriously. Hard work pays off,” she said to the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, Wednesday (April 29, 2026).
During her education, dr. Mega faces various challenges, including undergoing specialist education at the age of 35 as well as the experience of undergoing pregnancy and the role of motherhood in the midst of academic demands. However, these experiences actually shape toughness, discipline, and good time management skills.
In her education process, dr. Mega assessed that the Faculty of Medicine of UNDIP has advantages in learning systems that encourage critical thinking and cross-disciplinary collaboration. She is also highlighted the absence of a rigid seniority culture, thus creating an open and conducive learning atmosphere.
“The academic environment at the Faculty of Medicine is very supportive. Relationships between lecturers, seniors, and residents are well established so that the learning process feels more comfortable and enjoyable,” she explained.
The role of lecturers as mentors is also an important factor in shaping competence and professionalism. In addition to providing teaching, lecturers also directly guide and become role models in clinical practice.
The clinical experience gained, including while undergoing stasis at network hospitals such as Rembang Regional General Hospital, provides a real understanding of the strategic role of clinical microbiology specialists in health services. dr. Mega is directly involved in the interpretation of laboratory results, clinical discussions, and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) control programs.
“The experience made me really understand the role of clinical microbiology comprehensively, not only in the laboratory but also in clinical decision-making,” she added.
Through this achievement, the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP affirms its role as a medical educational institution that not only produces graduates with high academic achievements, but also professionals who are ready to face global challenges in the health sector.
