At SA-MWA Hall, Diponegoro University (Undip) campus, Tembalang, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, SH.M.Hum was inaugurated as dean of Faculty of Law by Undip Rector on Tuesday (May 8, 2018). Prof. Retno Saraswati, who was former Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, took the place of dean left by Prof. Dr. R. Benny Riyanto, SH. M.Hum, CN. As of April 4, 2018, Prof. Benny received a new assignment as Head of Research and Development, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
In his speech, Undip Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama said that Prof. Retno will assume duties as dean of Faculty of Law until January 15, 2019, continuing the term of office left by the previous dean. “I hope Prof. Retno can make a good job. A dean is a leader who must put integrity and honesty first. In carrying out its duties, the dean is expected to do it with orderly administration of academic, orderly administration of personnel and orderly administration of financial,” he said.
Seen after the inauguration, Prof. Retno expressed her gratitude for the assignment given by members of Senate of Undip Faculty of Law, who had believed her as the Dean. She expects supports of the entire academic community to continue and implement the unfinished programs until end of the term of office. “In accordance with Rector’s advices in his speech, I and officials of Faculty of Law are committed to best implementing the mandate and to improving the achievement for the big reputation of Undip’s Faculty of Law,” Prof. Retno said.
While contacted by Undip’s public relation, Prof. Benny expressed his congratulations to Prof. Retno as the new dean who continued his leadership. “I would like to thank to all of civitas academica who had supported me during my term as a dean and I apologize if any less pleasing while I was being the dean of Faculty of Law. For a while I will leave this campus for carrying out other duties, “said Benny who is also a karate practicioner and had achieved the black Dan V.
