Japan Professors Visits FPIK UNDIP

Thursday, March 5, 2020 Diponegoro University was visited by 2 professors from Hokkaido University, Japan. The professors aimed in giving public lectures and promoting Graduate School of Global Food Resources (GFR) as well as discussing a potential collaboration. Please note that GFR is a graduate school from the Faculty of Agriculture, Hokkaido University, which has the goal of being a world-class leader in overcoming the world food crisis.

The GFR visit is for public lecture agenda and discussions. The targets of the public lecture are students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, the faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, the Department of Nutrition of the Faculty of Medicine, and the Graduate School of Diponegoro University.

The public lecture were delivered by 2 professors from GFR Hokkaido University, Prof. MATSUISHI Takashi Frizt, Ph.D with the topics “Introduction of the Graduate School of Global Food Resources, Hokkaido University” and “Researches on Fisheries Management and its contribution to the Global Food Resources Issues” and Professor SONE Teruo, Ph.D with the topics “Researches on Fermentation and its contribution to the Global Food Resources Issues “.

After the public lecture, the agenda was continued with a discussion of the potential future collaboration with GFR. The discussion was attended by the heads of study programs of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, and the Graduate School of Diponegoro University as well as professors from Undip who attends the discussions.

It is hoped that this activity will able to open opportunities in the efforts of Diponegoro University to become a World Class University.
