In order to train the leadership and entrepreneurial spirit of students, especially for students who receive the Bidikmisi/KIPK scholarship, Diponegoro University (Undip) held leadership and entrepreneurship training activities on Tuesday (23/11) at 08.00 AM in the Auditorium Building I of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Undip Tembalang Campus.
This leadership and entrepreneurship training was attended by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D.; Director of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni, Hanifa Maher Denny, S.KM., M.P.H., Ph.D.; Deputy Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H.; Head of the Undip Bureau of Academic Administration and Student Affairs, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Sc.; Deputy Academic Director, Dr. eng. Agus Setyawan, S.Si., M.Sc.; and Manager of Student Affairs, Muhammad Muntafi’, S.Sos.
The committee of this training also invited the Owner of PT. Smile Papua and PT. Papua Maju Sejahtera, Major Arh. H. Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo, and Head of Undip KKIB Business Incubator, Idris, S.E., M.Sc. The event was moderated by the Deputy Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H., and Manager of Student Affairs, Muhammad Muntafi’, S.Sos.
In his remarks, Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D., revealed that after graduation, students are expected to be able to act as job creators or as job creators, so that they can live independently and help the welfare of others.
“So when you graduate, you don’t have to work for other people, but you can be independent and implement the knowledge you learn. You must be able to become people who act as job creators and present the results of your work for the welfare of others,” said Prof. Budi.
Prof. Budi added that in 2021 Undip managed to rank first in Indonesia according to the QS WUR Graduate Employability Rankings. This proves that Undip graduates are rated as the fastest in channeling graduates to work.
“This ranking is conducted by an international ranking agency, as the number one university in the context of Graduate Employability Rankings. This means that Undip is a university that is rated as the fastest university that can channel its graduates to work, whether it’s working independently or working with other companies or institutions. So the segment has job creators and job seekers, both of which Undip are number one in Indonesia,” added Prof. Budi.
This leadership and entrepreneurship training was followed by the presentation of material on how to start a business and how to lead it as well as how to manage the business. The presentation of these materials conveyed by the Owner PT. Smile Papua and PT. Papua Maju Sejahtera, Major Arh. H. Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo and Chairman of the Undip KKIB Business Incubator, Idris, S.E., M.Si.
