Strengthening Community Leading Commodities (PKUM) in Ponggok Village, Klaten Regency in a Series of UNDIP Community Service Activities

The Diponegoro University Community Service Team (Undip) made a visit to Ponggok Village, Klaten Regency. During this visit, the team carried out activities with the theme “Assisting in the Digitalization of Commodity Products in Ponggok Village, Klaten Regency” which was part of the Strengthening of Community Leading Commodities (PKUM) activities. The Community Service activity team consisted of lecturers and students, namely Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D., Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos, M.Pol.Admin, Ph.D., Alvina Nadia Darmawan, Almas Zakiy Firdaus and Uzma Syarifatul Muna S. In this activity, the Undip Team coordinated with the Head of Ponggok Village regarding Ponggok Village’s goal of becoming Sustainable Village where collaborative activities with partners are the main focus.

Ponggok Village has 4 water tours which this year, Ponggok Village will make integrated and sustainable tour packages. This is done because Ponggok Village also functions as a supporting village for the surrounding villages. “The principles used in the development of Ponggok Village are mapping, planning, implementing and also sustainable programs. We also focus on managing tourism products and cultural galleries,” said Mr. Junaidi as the Head of Ponggok Village.

This Strengthening of Community Leading Commodities (PKUM) activities aim to establish collaboration between Undip and Ponggok Village in realizing village branding with digital marketing through the Exovillage platform. This digitalization activity can certainly expand the marketing network of Ponggok Tourism Village because the Exovillage platform does not only market tour packages but also cultural packages.
