In the midst of her busy work on completing her thesis, Elsa Ziyadaturrisqi, a student of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) Diponegoro University (Undip), majoring in Physics, succeeded in becoming the 2022 Tegal Muslim Men and Women Education Ambassadors Champion.
According to Elsa, the younger generation is the front guard in building the nation and also as the nation’s next generation.
“We as the younger generation must have broad abilities and knowledge. I agree that women need to get a higher education bench. Women play a role in determining the nation’s next generation who are educated because the main education comes from the family. Women with higher educational backgrounds are expected to give birth to the next generation of the nation who are characterized, have good morals, and are knowledgeable. Apart from that, being in an organization is also important to train our soft skills and gain experience that we may not necessarily get after graduating from university. But we must also balance it with academic achievement. We must continue to be enthusiastic in pursuing education, develop our soft skills, and never be afraid to dream,” she said.
Apart from serving as Vice President of the 2022 Undip Geophysics Study Group, she has just completed data analysis training organized by KOMINFO, taught private tutoring in mathematics and physics for high school level, and also pursued the MC (Master of Ceremony) field. The competitions she has participated in include the top 10 finalists for the 2021 Business Plan Competition, poetry and essay writing competitions, 1st place in the 2021 Physics Culture Exhibition, and 2022 Tegal Muslim Men and Women Education Ambassadors.
“Since high school, I have enjoyed participating in competitions. I won 3rd place in Arabic Speech at the Pekalongan residency level, 3rd place in Indonesian Speech at the Tegal City level, 1st place in English Speech at the Tegal City level, Runner Up of the Planning Generation Ambassador (Duta Generasi Berencana/GENRE) for Tegal City in 2018, and 1st place in KSM Physics at the Tegal City level,” said this semester 7 student.
“I was accepted through the SNMPTN Undip and I did not expect to study at the best university in Central Java, of course I feel very proud. At Undip I trained soft skills through organizations such as the PSDM BEM Internship Undip in 2019, became the Central Java Leadership Project committee and participated in an association organization, namely the physics student association from 2020 to 2021. Undip provided a lot of valuable experience so that I was able to get an internship opportunity at the BMKG of Tegal City. I also participated in organizations outside Undip, including becoming the Secretary of the Indonesian Geophysics Student Association in 2021. The Undip lecturers were extraordinary, gave a lot of knowledge, not only shared physics knowledge but life sciences as a way of life for their students,” she concluded. (Lin – Public Relations)
