KKN-T (Thematic Community Service) Undip Cares Cianjur succeeded in completing the construction of a drilled well for residents of Cibeureum Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency. Head of LPPM (Institute for Research and Community Service) Undip, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T., donated wells and three Ceria Reading Gardens to the Head of Cibeureum Village, Asep Nahdoh, recently. The residents of Cibeureum Village have been waiting for this drilled well, considering that since the earthquake disaster in November 2022, residents have had difficulty getting clean water to meet their daily needs.
“We hope that these drilled wells will be useful for Cibeureum residents, because currently residents have difficulty getting water. Delivering the Undip Rector’s message, I hope that the KKN-T Undip team will be able to help and benefit the community,” said the Head of LPPM Undip, Prof. Jamari.
“Undip is here to provide enthusiasm and support the community to get back on its feet by accompanying and helping the people here,” added Prof. Jamari.
The drilled well is located in the neighborhood of the Jami’ Al Falah Mosque, RT 04 RW 01, Cibeureum Village, Cugenang District. The process of working on the drilled well was carried out for ten days complete with water installation and two large 1000 liter reservoirs as water reservoirs.
“Alhamdulillah the water is out. The water debit is quite large,” said Fikri Haikal, Coordinator of the Cianjur Care KKN-T Team II.
Apart from handing over the drilled well assistance, KKN-T Undip students also handed over the results of the KKN-T work, namely the program of three Undip Ceria Reading Gardens for Cibeureum residents. The three reading gardens are located at RT 02 RW 01, RT 01 RW 06 and also at PAUD DELIMA RT 04 RW 04.
“Reading gardens are very useful for our residents,” said the Head of Cibeureum Village, Asep Nahdoh, at the farewell event with KKN-T Undip Cares Cianjur students which took place at the Jami’ Al Falah Mosque and connected directly via Zoom Meeting with the Chair of the LPPM Undip from the Undip LPPM Building, Tembalang, Semarang.
According to Furqaan Hanafi, KKN-T students who also took part in this program. The existence of the Undip Ceria Reading Gardens was equipped with hundreds of reading books, especially for elementary school and PAUD children, as well as other educational reading about agriculture and animal husbandry. KKN-T Undip Cares Cianjur lasted for one month. The students lived in residents’ homes and carried out other KKN activities, such as handing over basic food packages, and supporting the IKPI Caring for Cianjur Disaster Victims action which was also attended by the Regent of Cianjur Herman Suherman. In addition to building three reading gardens and drilling wells, KKN-T students actively teach reading the Qur’an in residents’ evacuation tents. This activity is carried out after the Maghrib prayer.
“We are very grateful to Undip students who have given all their thoughts and energy to help us, our children are very happy to be able to study with older students, even our children cry sadly when Undip students are going home. We hope what has been built by the KKN-T Undip students is beneficial for the people of Cibeureum Village,” said Asep Parmana, a resident of Cibeureum Village.
