Referring to the spirit of globalization, collaboration and acceleration, Diponegoro University (Undip) is committed to advancing its academic community in various fields. This commitment is again proven by Undip’s latest ranking which was released by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rating agency on March 22, 2023. The results of the 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject Ranking, in the field of Agriculture & Forestry, Undip is ranked 4th nationally and ranked 351-400th internationally. In the field of Business & Management Studies, Undip is ranked 5th nationally and 451-500th internationally.
The 2023 QS WUR by Subject assesses based on subjects covering a total of 54 disciplines which are then grouped into five broad fields of study. Subjects assessed include Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management, along with three new subjects this year, namely Data Science, History of Art, and Marketing. University assessment indicators are assessed based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper reported by Elsevier Scopus, H-index, and international research networks.
The QS WUR by Subjects ranking which is compiled annually aims to help prospective students to identify the leading universities in a particular subject. Based on this ranking, Undip’s agriculture and business & management sectors have proven to be excellent.
Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama SH. M.Hum., expressed his gratitude to all parties for this achievement. The results of this ranking are the fruit of the hard work of all levels at Diponegoro University, including alumni who have contributed through their respective roles. “Of course we hope that every year our ranking can be even better. We continue to improve the academic and graduate quality, publications, and research networks with foreign researchers as an effort to achieve Undip’s vision of becoming an excellent research university and Undip’s aspirations to become a world-class university,” said Prof. Yos Johan, Tuesday (28/03/2023).
According to Prof. Yos, continuing efforts to improve reputation at the global level based on the subject/scientific field at Undip is a must because this is also the benchmark used by prospective new students in determining tertiary institutions and their majors (study programs).
