Not long ago, UniRank published Top Universities in Indonesia, 2023 Indonesian University Ranking, where Diponegoro University was ranked 10th as the most popular university in Indonesia. This ranking is above other campuses in Central Java. This proves that Undip remains a favorite campus in Central Java and is one of the best campuses in Indonesia.
As evidenced by the results of the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) announced by the National Selection Team for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) for State Universities (PTN) 2023 on Tuesday (28/3), Diponegoro University was ranked 3rd for PTN with the most registrants. Undip is also a PTN that accepts the most participants number 6 (six) for campuses domiciled in Central Java and DIY.
During an interview on Tuesday (4/4/2023) with the Undip Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Faisal said that the large number of applicants showed the great interest of graduates to study at Undip. This cannot be separated from Undip’s achievements. For the quality of Alumni, Diponegoro University is the number 1 (one) campus whose graduates quickly get jobs according to the QS Ranking. Undip won this number one ranking in 2021 and 2022 respectively. “For campus management and learning environment, Diponegoro University is ranked 2nd best sustainable university according to UI GreenMetric. This achievement was obtained three times in a row, namely in 2020, 2021 and 2022,” said Prof Faisal. “This means that the Undip campus is a green campus that is comfortable and friendly for all campus residents, including those with disabilities,” he added.
“Examining from the quality of education, Undip has proven to be superior and classy with 40 study programs out of a total of 169 study programs that have been internationally accredited,” he explained. Study programs that have been internationally accredited according to the ASIIN version (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics/ Computer Science, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics) from the Faculty of Engineering: S1 and S2 programs in Architecture, S1 and S2 programs in Urban and Regional Planning, S3 Architecture and Urban Sciences; from the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences: S1 Food Technology, S1 Animal Science and S1 Agribusiness; from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences: S1 Aquaculture, S1 Marine Science and S1 Oceanography; from the Postgraduate School: S2 and S3 programs in Environmental Science; from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics: S1 Biology and S1 Chemistry.
While study programs that are internationally accredited by the IABEE (Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education) version are S1 Electrical Engineering, S1 Civil Engineering, S1 Environmental Engineering, S1 Industrial Engineering, S1 Computer Engineering, S1 Marine Engineering, S1 Geodesy Engineering, S1 Civil Engineering and S1 Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering.
Next is the international accredited study program version of FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), namely the S1 Accounting, S1 Economics, S1 Islamic Economics, S1 Management, S2 Economics, S2 Management and S3 Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business. From the Faculty of Law, there are S1 and S2 programs in Law. From the Faculty of Humanities, there are S1 Indonesian Literature and S1 History. Meanwhile, from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, there are S1 Business Administration and S1 Communication Science. The accredited study program from the Faculty of Psychology is S1 Psychology. Following several other study programs are proposed and ready to be internationally accredited. “The number of study programs that have been internationally accredited has made Diponegoro University an excellent World Class University,” he said.
Diponegoro University not only prioritizes the quality of education, but also cares about the needs of campus residents. Undip’s concern is realized by the construction of facilities and infrastructure for sports and discussion rooms for students. Not only that, for ease of transportation while reducing pollution and noise on campus, Undip provides campus buses for students and other campus residents. In addition, Undip also routinely distributes healthy food to students. During the month of Ramadan, healthy food is distributed in the afternoon for students to break their fast.
