The Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, was established on February 23, 1998, based on the establishment decree, Government Regulation number 51/DIKTI/KEP/1998. Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Undip accredited Superior with number 11372/SK/BAN-PT/Akred-Itnl/S/X/2021 and internationally accredited (IBEE). Industrial engineering is the science of engineering and management in designing, repairing, implementing, and managing integrated systems in the manufacturing and service industries.
“After the pandemic, the business world is growing again, and the economy is growing again with the support of the industrial sector. The industrial sector is the leading sector that spurs the development of other sectors, including manufacturing and services,” explained Dr. Purnawan Adi Wicaksono, S.T., M.T., who currently serves as Chair of the Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering Undip in an interview on Monday (12/6/2023). Purnawan further explained the importance of studying industrial engineering. He explained that industrial engineering has contributed to and benefited. Industrial engineering is a more effective and efficient solution in the production process using machines, materials, time, human resources, information, and others so that processes and production run smoothly.
Industrial engineering graduates have broad job prospects and opportunities in many fields, such as quality engineer, production engineer, SCM engineer, operation consultant, demand planner, facility engineer, data scientist, data engineer, production scheduler, procurement analyst, reliability engineer, transport planner, logistics engineer, automation and robotic engineer, market research, project engineer, cost engineer, environmental health and safety engineer, actuarial analyst, and product analyst. In addition, industrial engineering graduates also have the opportunity to have careers as lecturers/teachers, civil servants, state-owned enterprises, and entrepreneurs.
By carrying out the vision of becoming an industrial engineering study program that excels in industrial engineering research and education in the development of a sustainable integrated system at the international level in 2030, the Industrial Engineering Undergraduate study program, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University continues to strive to produce graduates who are COMPLETE (Communicator, Professional, Leader, Entrepreneur, Thinker, Educator) and ready to work. It is proven that Undip is the number 1 (one) campus whose graduates quickly get jobs according to the QS Ranking for Employability in 2021 and 2022.
Industrial Engineering Department Undip is supported by classy facilities like classrooms with comfortable learning/multimedia facilities, laboratory rooms, a library, and an online library. In addition, it is also equipped with integrated internet service facilities that can be used by academics and the general public, which can provide solutions for students to search for external and internal campus data. Currently, accessing e-journals and e-books from international publishers can be done with a Single Sign On (SSO) account that is owned by all Undip academics. The facilities help the academic community to obtain information while off campus.
The Industrial Engineering Undergraduate study program has qualified lecturers/teachers, of which more than 50 percent hold doctoral and professor degrees.
