Faculty of Engineering Undip and IYSA Successfully Organized the 5th AISEEF

The 5th Asean Innovative Science Environmental And Entrepreneur Fair (AISEEF) was successfully held at the Prof. Sudarto, S.H. Building, Tembalang campus of Undip, Semarang (5/2). AISEEF is one of the annual events organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (Undip). The 2024 AISEEF was participated by 447 teams from 17 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Romania, Iran, Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, Portugal, the United States, South Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The total participants competing were divided into 152 teams offline or physically and 295 teams online. The teams included one combined participant from students of Diponegoro University collaborating with Andalas University. The five of them have been friends since high school, namely Almas Fauziyah (Chemical Engineering Undip Class of 2022); Muhammad Imam Muzaki (Biotechnology Undip Class of 2022); Rafi Maulana, M. Nandito Al Habsy, and Reza Ramadhana from the Faculty of Medicine UNAND Class of 2022 successfully achieved the Gold Award and a Special Award in the form of free registration to participate in the next IYSA event at the International Commission Young Romania in the Social Science category with the project GE UDIN (Early Childhood Educational Game). GE UDIN is a category as a healthy, clean-life behavior education and preventive measure for COVID-19 dangers in early childhood.

Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful and happy because of the collaboration between different universities, involving 2 universities, thus establishing bilateral relations that resulted in achieving 2 nominations. We are especially pleased to come to Undip with a warm and total welcome, and we, as students from Andalas University, greatly appreciate our friends from Undip, not only as a team but also as the organizers of AISEEF,” said Nandito.

“Future hopes after receiving the Special Award for free registration to the International Commission Young Romania; we will further optimize GE UDIN by continuing to establish bilateral relations between universities where previously from one school, especially because it was the first time collaborating in a competition, exchanging information or more precisely exchanging knowledge,” he added. They shouted their closing statement, “Guardians: From Us To The Next Generation.”

The 2024 AISEEF was attended directly by participants from Thailand. AISEEF was first held offline in 2020 in Surabaya and was followed by approximately 200 teams. In the second year, AISEEF had to be held online due to the pandemic that affected the world. From its 3rd year (2022) until now, in 2024, the AISEEF event has been held in a hybrid manner.

The series of AISEEF events began on February 2, with the opening ceremony followed by judging for participants participating in the online competition. On the second day (3/2), the judging session for the offline competition was held. On the third day, there were 3 activities carried out, namely, Excursion or educational tours, Inventors Talk, and also the announcement of winners for participants who passed the online competition. During the educational tour session, which also invited participants from Thailand to visit several tourist attractions in Semarang, including Celosia Flower Garden Semarang, Sam Poo Kong Temple, Lawang Sewu, and ended with buying souvenirs at the Souvenir Center 52 Semarang.

The closing event of AISEEF was in the form of an announcement session for the winners for offline participants, where various prizes were prepared besides Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, including Special Awards from IYSA, NWERA Association Romania, and Doza Skreja Macedonia, awards for the best poster, best work, best presentation, and best booth. Not to mention the IYSA Semi Grand Award, where the team receiving this award will receive a prize in the form of free registration to participate in the next IYSA event and two main prizes, namely the IYSA Grand Prize and the IYSA Grand Award.

The recipient of the IYSA Grand Prize at the AISEEF 2024 event is MTs Negeri 1 Sidoarjo, which received cash prizes of IDR 750,000; SMP Negeri 3 Denpasar received a cash prize of IDR 1,000,000; SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya/CBSO also received a cash prize of IDR 1,500,000. Meanwhile, at the peak of the awards in this event, namely the IYSA Grand Award was given to SMP SAINS AL-QUR’AN WAHID HASYIM YOGYAKARTA where they received a Fully Funded prize to participate in the 2024 WYIIA event (terms and conditions apply).
