Calista, UNDIP Student Wins 2nd Runner-Up for Puteri Ekowisata Jawa Tengah

Students from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) have once again achieved commendable success. Calista Kisy Shintia Putri, a student of Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) at UNDIP, was selected as the 2nd Runner-Up of Puteri Ekowisata Jawa Tengah and also crowned Puteri Geo Wisata Jawa Tengah. The final round of the Puteri Ekowisata Jawa Tengah contest was held in Semarang on May 26, 2024.

Calista revealed that participating in this contest required her to overcome many challenges to eventually become Puteri Geo Wisata Jawa Tengah. “I went through a series of auditions and selections and worked on several projects starting from February. Then, in May, I was announced as one of the top four finalists. Following this, I participated in a series of online and offline quarantines held in Semarang,” she explained.

She also added that as the first contest she participated in, Calista feels very proud of her current achievements. “When I secured the 2nd runner-up position, I felt very proud of my accomplishments so far. To me, we are all winners, and earning that position is an honor for all of us to serve Indonesia, especially Central Java,” said Calista.

She hopes that her achievement will inspire many students to continue contributing to Indonesia. “I hope this achievement can inspire all of us, especially students, to keep contributing to preserving the environment and promoting tourism potential as well as SMEs in Indonesia,” Calista said.

Putera Puteri Ekowisata Jawa Tengah is part of Putera Puteri Ekowisata Indonesia, a contest organized by the Putra Pariwisata Indonesia Foundation. This contest aims to select Indonesia’s Ecotourism Ambassadors who will promote ecotourism in Indonesia with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
