Tight Competition for Superior Study Programs through UM S1 UNDIP

Semarang – Central Java (24/6). Through its official social media accounts and the website pmb.undip.ac.id, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) announced that the registration schedule for the Independent Examination for Undergraduate Programs (UM S1), initially set to end on June 20, 2024, has been extended to June 24, 2024, at 16:00 WIB. The extension aims to accommodate the high interest of high school graduates or equivalents who wish to study at Diponegoro University through the Independent Examination (UM) route. The UM is an independent examination pathway organized by Diponegoro University after the national selection process is completed.

The requirements to take the Independent Examination for undergraduate and vocational programs are high school (SMA/SMK/MA or equivalent) graduates, those who have passed equivalency exams or other equivalents (package C) from the years 2022 and 2023, and students graduating in 2024. Applicants must be no older than 22 years at the time of registration.

More detailed information about the Independent Examination can be found on the website www.pmb.undip.ac.id. The examination will be held from June 27 to July 1, 2024.

Admission through the UM selection process generally fulfills 50% of the capacity. The half-fulfilled capacity means that a program with a capacity of 800 students still has 400 spots to be filled through UM. The capacity size usually correlates with interest levels.

For example, Law, Psychology, and Management study programs have relatively large capacities and are in high demand. It is a misconception to think that programs with large capacities have low interest or demand.

Therefore, applicants should wisely interpret the data often found in the media.
