UNDIP Wins the “Best Student Stunting Awareness Program Implementation 2024” Award from BKKBN

Semarang, July 2, 2024 – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) has successfully received the “Best Student Stunting Awareness Program Implementation 2024” award at the Appreciation of Stunting Reduction Acceleration Program event organized by the Indonesian National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) during the National Family Month 2024 celebration held in Semarang.

This prestigious award is concrete evidence of UNDIP’s dedication and commitment through the Community Service Center (P2KKN) of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) to reducing stunting rates in Indonesia. The Implementation of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Program was carried out in the Community Service Program Team II 2022/2023 from July to August 2023, with a primary focus on accelerating stunting reduction in 10 districts: Brebes, Tegal, Pemalang, Pekalongan, Batang, Pati, Boyolali, Klaten, Sragen, and Wonogiri.

This program involved UNDIP students who actively participated in providing education, counseling, and direct interventions to the communities in these areas through close collaboration with BKKBN. The program was designed to increase public awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition for children and provide guidance on implementing healthy eating patterns and optimal health care.

UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his gratitude and pride for this award. “We are very grateful for the appreciation given by BKKBN. This award is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire UNDIP team, especially the students who went directly to the field to contribute to the reduction of stunting rates in Indonesia. We will continue to strive to carry out programs that benefit the community and contribute to nation-building,” he said.

Kurniawan Teguh Martono, S.T., M.T., Chairman of P2KKN LPPM UNDIP, added, “Collaboration with BKKBN in this program is an important momentum for UNDIP in increasing student involvement in community service. We hope this program can serve as an example for other institutions and can be expanded to other regions in Indonesia.”

This award is not only an achievement for UNDIP but also a motivation to continue innovating and contributing to stunting reduction efforts and improving the quality of life in Indonesian society. UNDIP is committed to continuing to implement community service programs that have a positive and sustainable impact.
