TOP! Bryant Andhika, UNDIP Student Finalist in Pilmapres Competition, Good at Research and Karate

It is an honor for Bryant Andhika Prayoga to be selected as the Main Outstanding Student of the Undergraduate Program (National Finalist of the 2024 Undergraduate Outstanding Student Competition / Pilmapres). Bryant, who is still pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), never thought he could become a UNDIP student through the Independent Examination path of UNDIP’s International Undergraduate Program (IUP).

Bryant also did not expect to become the 1st Winner of the Main Undergraduate Outstanding Student at Diponegoro University level. He even succeeded in becoming one of the top 4 Main Outstanding Students in Central Java. He was also declared to have passed the Pilmapres selection at the National level. He became one of the 16 National Finalist Outstanding Students for 2024 who will compete at Gorontalo State University, North Sulawesi, from July 24 – 28, 2024.

“I am very grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this Academic Potential Improvement Competition at Pilmapres while developing my potential at UNDIP. Through this process, I found enthusiasm for challenges and realized the importance of self-motivation. Additionally, I met UNDIP lecturers who are very expert in their fields and inspire their students,” said Bryant.

Several aspects of the Pilmapres assessment of Bryant’s achievements include both his works and other supporting achievements such as obtaining a Patent for “Bundaran” (Emergency Antibacterial Soap); innovative creations; Copyright for the poster “Glucose Biosensor from Eggshell Waste/ Glucose Oxidase/ Alginate as a Simple, Accurate, and Cheap Sugar Level Detector”; Recipient of a Full Scholarship for FRT-Indonesian Awards for Research Collaboration by The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia; as Winner of Sponsorship Funding and Scholarship for Scientific Papers and Research Collaboration worth USD 19,147.43 across 3 continents and 12 countries. He even became the Founder and CEO of AIYEMEP, overseeing a team of 3 international staff members (United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Turkey).

“By the 6th semester, Alhamdulillah, I am heading to the 13th country and 3 continents. The countries I have visited and will visit in a short time include Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Dubai, Japan, China, South Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand”. “I obtained all of this from full sponsorships and scholarships from the destination country’s government, totaling more than USD 24,500 ++ or equivalent to IDR 400,000,000,” Bryant said proudly.

For him, success is determined by oneself by taking responsibility for one’s education. “During college, we are not only required to maximize academic potential but are also expected to hone soft skills such as leadership, public speaking, and other skills like advocacy, lobbying, and critical thinking. And, of course, having a broad network is important because we cannot live alone, so collaboration is necessary,” he explained.

It has been proven that Bryant has secured 4 intellectual property rights and 1 trademark and is now awaiting the publication of an international journal as a co-author. He is also a speaker at the World Student Association (PPI Dunia).
