UNDIP – The Antawirya team from Universitas Diponegoro has once again achieved remarkable success at the 2024 Energy-Efficient Car Contest (Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi / KMHE) organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Indonesian Talent Development Agency (BPTI). The competition was held at the Carnaval Circuit Ancol (Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit), Jakarta, from October 5 to 10, 2024.
In this national-level competition, the Antawirya team won 1st place in the Urban category for Internal Combustion Engine Motor Gasoline with their vehicle ‘Gentayu’ and 2nd place in the Prototype category for Electric Motor with ‘Rondhan.’
Zarir Athaullah, General Manager of the Antawirya UNDIP team, expressed gratitude and pride for the team’s achievements at the 2024 KMHE.
“We feel very proud and grateful for this extraordinary achievement. Winning 1st place in the Urban category and 2nd place in the Prototype category is the result of hard work and dedication from all team members. Hearing the announcement of our victory brought us deep happiness and satisfaction,” said Zarir.
He mentioned that every member of the Antawirya team contributed their ideas and efforts. “This is tangible proof that our hard work and passion for innovating in energy-efficient vehicles have truly paid off. Additionally, this success motivates us to keep progressing and striving harder in future competitions,” he said.
Zarir also noted that the Antawirya team’s success was supported by UNDIP, which has consistently appreciated the team’s innovations. “This achievement was definitely made possible by UNDIP’s support, which helped us become champions. The team’s desire to make our alma mater, Diponegoro University, proud was also a driving force behind this competition’s success,” Zarir explained.
He further stated that participating in various national and international competitions drives continuous innovation and skill enhancement. “Through collaboration with the team and sharing experiences, I believe that the spirit of innovation and competition is the key to achieving future success,” Zarir said.
The Energy-Efficient Car Contest (KMHE) is a talent showcase in the fields of science, research, and innovation organized by BPTI/Puspresnas for higher education. The 2024 KMHE competition was participated in by 93 teams consisting of 643 students and 93 supervising lecturers from 65 universities across Indonesia, all with a spirit of positive collaboration.
Interestingly, both of Antawirya’s vehicles, Gentayu and Rondhan, were also displayed at the Universitas Diponegoro booth showcasing technological innovation products during the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) at the Muladi Dome from October 23 to 27, 2024. The exhibition of these prototype vehicles aimed to introduce them to visitors and the general public as environmentally friendly automotive technology innovations and energy-efficient cars, products of research by UNDIP students and lecturers, proven by their impressive achievements in various national and international competitions.
