Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) hosted a visit from Saxion University of Applied Sciences on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Rectorate Meeting Room, Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
The event was attended by the UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si.; Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T.; Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Jamari, S.T., M.T.; and Director of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU.
The Saxion University delegation included Janco Bonnink, Director of Education and Student Support; Sander Reinderink, Dean of the School of Finance and International Business; Harry Futselaar, Professor of International Water Technology; Bram Entrop, Professor of Sustainable Area and Soil Transitions; and Ngoc Ngo, Manager of International Strategic Partnerships.
The collaboration between UNDIP and Saxion University has been ongoing for many years, and both parties warmly welcomed this visit, marking the continuation of their partnership as global universities.
UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the Saxion University delegation’s visit, stating, “This collaboration, which has lasted for approximately seven years, has progressed smoothly. Moving forward, we aim to strengthen cooperation through various project schemes. We also hope to revisit Saxion University soon.”
Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, acted as the moderator for this visit. He emphasized the benefits of the joint and double degree programs for students, not only in academics but also in research. “This is the time to expand our collaboration in science, knowledge, and societal impact. This collaboration aligns with the UNDIP Rector’s vision of ‘UNDIP Bermartabat, UNDIP Bermanfaat’ (Dignified UNDIP, Beneficial UNDIP), where academics can contribute knowledge to benefit society.”
Sander Reinderink, Dean of the School of Finance and International Business at Saxion University, agreed to strengthen collaborations in other fields and faculties. He noted that the ongoing partnership between the economics faculties has proven effective in developing students’ potential to become globally competent graduates.
During the discussion session, Janco Bonnink, Director of Education and Student Support, stated that Saxion University is open to exploring other collaborations, such as research, technology, and sustainable environmental initiatives. Together, Saxion University and UNDIP aim to explore the vast potential for development. Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of UNDIP’s Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity, added that this extended collaboration aims not only to increase student numbers but also to enhance the reputations of both UNDIP and Saxion University through initiatives like summer courses and visiting professor programs.
