In addition to receiving recognition, the PPDS student monitoring logbook developed by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP is likely to be implemented nationwide. It is already being piloted at a university in Sulawesi.
This statement was conveyed by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Suharnomo, during the Character Building event titled “Noble and Valuable PPDS Toward a Golden Indonesia” for the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) and Subspecialist PPDS of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, held at the Muladi Dome, UNDIP, on Saturday (January 4, 2025).
The event featured prominent speaker Dr. (H.C.) H. Ary Ginanjar Agustian delivered a session on ESQ Character Building to 1,054 PPDS students from 19 PPDS programs at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP.
Character Building is part of the action plan jointly implemented by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP and RSUP Kariadi to improve the PPDS education system under the supervision of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Health (Itjen Kemendikti & Itjen Kemenkes).
In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Suharnomo, expressed pride in the logbook created by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP for monitoring PPDS students, which Itjen Kemenkes praised.
“We are very pleased that Itjen Kemenkes has recognized the logbook model developed by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, and hopefully, it will be adopted across Indonesia. Of course, we are very proud. Many areas need improvement, and we can make a significant contribution to this. The logbook application provides transparent information about the learning process in UNDIP’s PPDS program, as it can be accessed by students, parents, affiliated hospitals, and academic programs alike,” Prof. Suharnomo said.
The logbook application is currently used by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP to monitor PPDS students’ activities, ensuring their working hours do not exceed 80 hours per week. It also includes various features, such as a complaints mechanism.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, Ph.D., explained that there are 35 action plans to be executed to improve the PPDS education system. Of these, 17 are implemented in collaboration with RSUP Kariadi, 9 are carried out independently by the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, and RSUP Kariadi undertakes 9.
“These action plans are a follow-up to the cooperation agreement between UNDIP and RSUP Kariadi, witnessed by Dirjen Dikti, Dirjen Yankes, Itjen Kemendikti, and Itjen Kemenkes RI. UNDIP’s PPDS action plan is currently monitored directly by Itjen Kemenkes and Itjen Kemendikti, and we are implementing it very seriously,” added Wijayanto, Ph.D. (NH)
