On Friday, January 17, 2025, Diponegoro National Hospital (Rumah Sakit Nasional Diponegoro / RSND) held an Inauguration Ceremony for the opening of the Genetics Clinic. The ceremony was led directly by the President Director of Diponegoro National Hospital, dr. Agus Setiyo Hadipurwanto, M.Kes., marked by a ribbon-cutting and the traditional tumpeng cutting as symbols of the inauguration.
The event continued with a Mini Seminar titled “Understanding Genetic Diseases,” delivered by Dr. dr. Agustini Utari, M.Si.Med., Sp.A(K), one of the genetic counselor doctors at RSND.
In her remarks at the event, Dr. dr. Nydia Rena Benita Sihombing, M.Si.Med., as the Coordinator of the Genetics Clinic, expressed hope that the genetic counselor doctors at RSND Genetics Clinic could assist patients in making better decisions regarding the treatment of genetics-related diseases.
Additionally, it is hoped that the genetic counselor doctors at the RSND Genetics Clinic can assist other doctors who need a genetic approach to treating their patients.
The Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), dr. Muflihatul Muniroh, M.Si., Med., Ph.D., representing the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, extended her positive remarks on the opening of the Genetics Clinic at RSND. Beyond its benefits for patients, it is also hoped that the clinic will facilitate students in learning and understanding genetic counseling in medical practice.
Meanwhile, the President Director of RSND, dr. Agus Setiyo Hadipurwanto, M.Kes., stated in his speech that the day’s event was a significant agenda. There must be a point that makes RSND a national referral center. One of them is the Genetics Clinic. “Hopefully, in the future, when it comes to genetics, RSND will be the best in Indonesia,” he concluded.
The inauguration of the Genetics Clinic marks an important milestone for Diponegoro National Hospital in its efforts to establish itself as a national referral center, as its name implies. The services at the RSND Genetics Clinic will likely run smoothly and successfully, providing greater benefits for patient care.
