UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press Hold Webinar on Data Management Analysis: Quantitative Data Processing Using Stata

“Quantitative data analysis requires the right software for data processing and analysis. This webinar discusses how to use Stata, a statistical software used for data analysis, data processing, and data visualization. This application is useful for supporting research and academic writing for the academic community. Hopefully, this event provides benefits in understanding the importance of quantitative data processing using Stata,” said Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom., Head of UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press, during the Webinar #61 on Data Management Analysis: Quantitative Data Processing Using Stata, organized by UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press in collaboration with the Forum for Communication of Librarians and Library Managers of Universitas Diponegoro. The webinar was held online via Zoom meeting on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).

Esa Azali Asyahid, S.E., M.Sc. (Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Gadjah Mada), as the guest speaker, explained that Stata is generally more commonly used for processing microdata (cross-section or panel) rather than macrodata (time series). Stata was first released in 1985, and the latest version currently available is Stata 18.

“Stata is one of the most powerful statistical packages widely used by researchers in economics, political science, sociology, public health, biostatistics, and many other fields. The recommended way to operate Stata is by using commands,” Esa explained.

“Increasing command usage enhances work efficiency and allows us to share data analysis workflows with others in the form of do-files,” he added.

Stata is a comprehensive statistical program in terms of statistical functions, making it one of the most popular software choices among various fields for data processing and analysis.
