FPP UNDIP Student Team Wins First Place in National Scientific Writing Competition at Universitas Hasanuddin

UNDIP, Makassar (May 3, 2025) – Students from the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro (FPP UNDIP), have recorded another proud achievement. The LKTI FPP UNDIP team won first place in the National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI), held as part of the National Working Meeting of ISMAPETI at Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan, from April 28 to May 1, 2025.

The team—comprising Sisilia Anggraeni, Dwi Alfina Rizqiana Safitri, Bagus Pradipta Sukaca, and Sirojul Hayyan—presented a scientific paper titled Phytoherbal Teat Dipping Antiseptic Innovation: Antimicrobial Effectiveness and Cost Efficiency Based on Local Leaf Extracts for Dairy Cow Udder Health.”

Their work highlighted the potential of local natural ingredients as alternative antiseptics to prevent mastitis in dairy cows, using a scientific approach that emphasized antimicrobial effectiveness and production cost efficiency.

Dean of UNDIP’s Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Sugiharto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation and support. “This achievement shows that FPP UNDIP students are capable of leading innovation through research. We are proud of them and hope this accomplishment inspires other students to keep creating and contributing to the advancement of animal agriculture in Indonesia,” he said.

Faculty advisor Ir. Daud Samsudewa, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D., IPM, also praised the students’ hard work. “They demonstrated not only analytical depth and scientific creativity but also a strong awareness of real-world issues in the livestock sector. This victory proves that locally based research can be nationally competitive,” he stated.

This accomplishment further affirms FPP UNDIP’s position as a leading institution in the development of applied livestock sciences. It serves as tangible evidence that the younger generation holds significant potential in addressing the challenges of Indonesia’s agriculture and livestock industries. (FPP Team)
