Dean of UNDIP’s Faculty of Psychology Shares Insights at ASEAN Career Development and Networking 2025

SEMARANG (August 7, 2025) – On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Persatuan Pendidikan Digital Komuniti (PENDIDIK) hosted the ASEAN Career Development and Networking event at Taylor’s University, Lakeside Campus, Malaysia. The prestigious forum featured speakers from across ASEAN countries, including Professor Dian Ratna Sawitri, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Diponegoro, as a guest speaker.

In her presentation titled “Role of Career Development Practitioners (CDPs): Empowering Vulnerable Groups through Career Initiatives,” Prof. Sawitri outlined strategies, programs, and collaborations implemented to empower youth from vulnerable groups in Indonesia, enabling them to participate more effectively in the workforce.

She also emphasized the importance of empathy-based approaches, cross-sector networks, and the use of technology as a catalyst to expand employment opportunities.

The conference was officially opened by a representative from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), carrying the theme “Empowering ASEAN Talent for a Sustainable Future: Bridging Gaps in Career Development and Workforce Readiness.”

The conference served as a strategic platform for stakeholders across ASEAN to discuss current challenges and opportunities in career development and workforce readiness amid a rapidly changing era. Participants included career development practitioners, HR professionals and talent managers, educators and academics, industry leaders and innovators, policymakers and government representatives, NGOs and community organizers, as well as students and job seekers.
