Diponegoro University (Undip) has just established a collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Undip, represented by Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., with BSI represented by Kokok Alun Akbar, on Friday (22/04) at 09.30 AM virtually via the Zoom meeting platform.
This event was attended by the Undip Rector, Chair of Academic Senate, Deputy Chair of Board of Trustees, Vice Rectors, Deans of Faculties/School, all levels of Undip Management, Director of Retail Banking BSI, Department Head Institutional Banking BSI, Funding Deputy Region 07 Semarang BSI, Area Manager of BSI Semarang City, Senior Relationship Manager Institutional Banking BSI, and Branch Managers of BSI Semarang City Area.
This collaboration is held with the aim of developing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the utilization of sharia banking services and products.
In his speech, Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., welcomed the cooperation that has been established with BSI. “Thank you for signing the Memorandum of Understanding between Undip and BSI. As a well-known institution, Undip certainly needs the support of banking services. And of course this is all in order to provide the best service, especially to students,” he said.
“In fact, in one of Undip’s regulations, namely regarding business, it has been determined that Undip’s business is non-usury. So I think this is in line with BSI, which is a non-usury bank. Insyaallah, with this collaboration, we will do many things for the common good,” continued Prof. Yos.
Meanwhile, in line with the statement from Prof. Yos, Director of Retail Banking BSI, Kokok Alun Akbar, said that the collaboration with Undip is a tangible manifestation of Undip’s support for the development of the sharia economy. “What we signed is a tangible form of support from Undip for the development of the sharia economy in Indonesia,” he said.
In addition, he seemed enthusiastic and expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with Undip. “We would like to thank the Rector and all management of Diponegoro University for the trust given to BSI to be a partner in the utilization of sharia banking products and services,” said Kokok Alun Akbar.
With this collaboration, Kokok Alun Akbar hoped to immediately create synergies together in order to provide mutual benefits for all parties. “Through the synergy with Undip, we hope to be able to provide the best service in accordance with sharia principles equipped with qualified digitalization for the entire Undip academic community.
